For people having FPS-Issues

A synthetised summary of all i done, maybe easier to check than the full explanations :


- Vulkan
- audio channel low
- deleted caches of shaders in %APPDATA%/Path of Exile 2/ because swap between dx12 and vulkan makes shader conflict
- activate windows perf mode (not just the power plan but also : system => display => graphic setting => hardware accelerating GPU scheduling => restart computer)
- limited cpu to 99% usage
- deleted logs in poe2 game folder
- activate triple buffering
- desactivate dynamic culling (but keep dynamic resolution)
- enhanced nvidia cache to 100gb in nvidia settings (with enough space on the SSD)
- not in the guide : ultra performance mode for the dlss

performed some of the actions recommended in this thread and it helped immensely.

#1 deleted Shader cache
#2 set cache to unlimited size
#3 sound channels medium
#4 changed chat channels

I can't say what of those had actual impact, but I suspect the shader deletion might be the biggest one.

My FPS is much more stable at around 110-120fps@4k max settings, dropping only as low as ~50fps with higher density. (before was 10-20 fps)

(AMD 5800X3D, RTX 5080, Nobara Linux 6.16.5-200, standalone client)

ReBar should always be enabled. It gives u basically free fps.

Ok, let me be the bearer of bad news.

There’s nothing wrong with your PCs. The engine is 15 years old, running a game released in 2024.

PoE 1 always had severe performance issues. They’ve never fixed it, or simply don’t know how to.

Now, the same problems have carried over to PoE 2.

The only people not complaining are those with $3,000 setups and CPUs powerful enough to run a space station.

The game is broken, plain and simple. Great game, but stuck on a 15-year-old engine.

Edit : Mine was already activated on bios and nvidia by default, and i had the fps issues until is use the thread. (just for the info)

I don't know but i m getting better FPS if i play in Directx12. Vulkan is slow may be Nvidia cards dont like it. One info is critical from OP , changed power supply options to CPU %99 max load i don't see 95c on shader loading when i enter a map (98003xd).

For me Vulkan runs way better than DX12, both with my old 3080 as with the current 5080. That's on windows and linux aswell.

Plz give me a tuto link, google is so bad now that i couldn't find anything about it exept it's bios related.

I had to enable it in my bios, yes. I had to disable a compatibility mode for booting my SSD beforehand tho. Otherwise it wouldn't let me choose the option.

Here is a video explanation on how to enable it in windows, but u also have to enable it in ur bios first. Couldn't find a suitable video for that tho, so u might have to search urself. U can check if it's bios enabled with CPU-Z. Just like in Jayz video it will show "Resizeable Bar Enabled".

I've search on youtube since google is shitty now, then i saw in my bios and my nvidia panel that is was already activated. Thx for the help.
