Now you post yours? I want to see those 2 minute fights you're doing.

Do you really have an hard time believing that? it's so obvious most of the players doesn't 1 shot maps like in the video.

Why do you guys keep posting hollow words instead of proving it with a short video? Is it all that hard? Or is there some other reason...?

They did the ''slow amd more engaging combat'' in 0.2 but everyone cried and quit the game.

Just like Deadeye is the only viable build? Oh wait.
My God, this is such a good video.

Here is a comment I left on one of Jazzarus' videos:

One button builds are only cool for a few maps or a few hours. It gets boring really fast for a lot of people. Now these people gravitate towards one-button builds, after they get frustrated with the inability to do combos. Less monsters and stronger monsters may give space for combos, but in a mirror of delirium with 10 abyssal pits while 5 rare bosses swarm you, there is no room for combos.

I would like to repeat what I just said, people gravitate towards one-button powerful builds, AFTER they get frustrated and give up on the combo builds. I really really hope PoE2 will NOT become PoE1 with better graphics. That concept is consumed, it was cool, it still is for a lot people, but not for me and not for my friends. The campaign in PoE2, btw, is amazing. I never understood this brainless one-button approach in PoE1. It's only fun until you figure it out and you see that it works... but then... you get bored, you quit the league. If they figure out the combo builds in the endgame, this game will make history. Why? Because you not only have to figure out the synergy between the passive tree, skills plus supports, and items (and their price and crafts), but also you need practice and skill to make your build truly shine, and THAT is where I hope this game will end up.

What I have also noticed, is that in the beginning, everyone, all streamers tried to use combo builds, but they just wouldn't work properly. Why have WASD, sprint, dodge roll, if you can't combo? If at level 90 all I do is move and hold one button and the whole screen blows up... these features become almost pointless.

Now there is a cool place in act 2 where you kill all those terracotta soldiers. It looks cool because there is no boss and they are weak, but when you mix them in a delirium, with other 5 bosses as I mentioned above, the combo features start to break.

The problem with Xesht & Co. in 0.1 and 0.2 wasn't necessarily that the boss was too strong. The problem was that multiple tries were expensive compared to currency drops in maps.

I would also love to see creators and players trying to push boundaries and brainstorm different ideas, escape the PoE1 paradigm and help GGG push the boundaries on what a true combo build would look like.

These 3 videos are a beautiful representation of a combo-based build, but as you can see, they happen in campaign, in act 2:

Very good points here and very good post. You've articulated it very well.

Spot on.

Sadly, I don't think it's heading towards that though. Especially that it's a lot more complicated then just tweaking some numbers here and there.

they even made the campaign way too easy now, nobody knows anymore what they are doing or what their goal is, they say one thing and then do the opposite.
Here's my combo build absolutely facerolling Xesht T2: https://youtu.be/5D72fbNjwuw

I've also cleared T1 Olroth, T2 Simulacrum, T2 King, Kulemak in a T14 map... like I dunno guys I'm no expert but it definitely feels like you can make it work past Act 2 of the campaign.

im someone that likes "slow and methodical" combat, opposed to a lot of people, i enjoyed 0.1 early campaign a lot

And i must say poe1 has better combat than poe2. in its current form poe2 just takes the issues of poe1 and highlights them even more, the only thing thats slow is the movement

The movement of the inflation was the biggest problem. People wanted to quickly finish maps so they can drop divines because there was a constant sentiment of getting left behind. That was also back when crafting options were extremely limited.
