I have no textures...

The game clogs up the video card's memory, and as soon as it runs out, textures are disabled. My sympathies to anyone with 4GB of memory. It turns out the game is made for the "elite," while the rest of us play Tetris.

My guy, the minimum specs for the game on Steam say:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-7700 or AMD™ Ryzen 5 2500x
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 (3GB), Intel® Arc™ A380, or ATI Radeon™ RX 470
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 100 GB available space
Additional Notes: A GPU with at least 3GB of VRAM is required

And this game, unlike POE1, is NOT FREE (it, supposedly, they say, will be free later, at an undetermined time, but it's certainly not free right now).

If they "just ignore the issue", that would mean they scammed a ton of paying costumers. So, no, they can't just do that (and I doubt they will).

Also, the game runs fine now if you change from Vulkan to DX12 and back, the textures are back and performance is good. But this "fix" just lasts for like one or two areas at best. So, obviously, the hardware can handle it, if can run fine for a whole area.

When it gets around 3400+Mb - textures gone.

so we must upgrade our GPU at least 8GB vram but not drivers )))

Good call using nvidia-smi. I did the same. Got up to 3.4GB just waiting around at the loading screen! Swapped back and forth between DX12 and Vulkan a couple of times. It looks like for me I'm seeing textures disappear somewhere around 3.6GB on an RTX A2000 with 4GB of VRAM.

Edit: Also I saw an immediate jump in VRAM usage with no intermediate drop when transitioning between zones even before the zone fully loaded. Kind of like the previous zones's textures weren't paged out when the new zone is loaded.

so the trick switching vulkan -> dx12 and back makes sense then. it refreshes loaded staff and loads only nesessary ones for the current area. in this case memory usage a bit lower until you go next zone/area to load new staff to memory :)

They have ignored the optimization for like 8 months since 0.2. They just don't have the people required to optimize the game AND make it. It was supposed to come out by now, but it's not going too fast. I was hoping for this to be the patch I can play this game again, but seems a new problem has arisen and I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't fixed.

Technically, I paid money for 0.1 version of the game, had tons of fun with no issues, then 0.2 came out and I couldn't play the game anymore.
