Thanks for the resources!

My fiancée is into drawing and aims for professional levels.
Hopefully this will help her a step further to her goal. :-)

As a thanks the guide I was using personally:
http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-draw-learn

Maybe I will also post some rookie stuff. :D

For anyone holding back from drawing because he fears to not overcome some personal barriers: I highly recommend "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards as suggested in the guide. I actually was able to get my hands on this book in my university library as it is too expensive otherwise but the explanations and help the book suffices is worth every minute of your time. :-)

Most people here drawing already with much confidence won't need as much as complete beginners. And always remember: Draw much, this is the best way to progress your skills. Even if you consider your work not good yet.

Heh that guide looks ultra complex. They took 2 books worth of info and crushed it down to a webpage. I like watching digital artist tutorials because they take old good techniques and modernise them so they are easyier to use and understand. They are of coarse also faster.

I wish I could get more people to start drawing with me : /. Only drawers I know are industry level.

I've always been extremely envious of those individuals that pick up drawing, regardless of talent. I'm not sure I could even draw a stick-figure myself.

nonscence. i mean, i was always interested in art. but i never did anything till i was 18 [24 now]. well, i did draw, but it was scribbles and stuff that barely resembles what i was trying to portray. Hell, i was still drawing stick figures when i was 18. they looked a hell of a lot better than my attempts at real people. About the only thing i regret is not deciding to take art more seriously, earlier. By right my skill level should be higher.

I also believe that you are not born naturally gifted at art. it is learned. The ones that are good, are the ones that put in the work sucking, to become better and work your way through that stage.
