Regarding gitattribute, I pushed the project out in a rush, so I forgot about that. It'll be included in my next revision, which will also contain a maven project with dependency resolving.

About gradle, I like it too, but I cited maven because it is more established (or aka.: old) as dependency manager and build tool. Neat idea, but... is it really worthwhile? I guess, if you're building for a PoE support program for an android device, I could see these libraries being useful, but most people who want PoE support may be wary to trust an application. These kinds of libraries would probably be put to more use if they were written in javascript/php.

"Eh? Even if it were a library for the web, it'd have the same security concerns. Besides, tons of people use Procurement, a desktop app with the same principle. The advantage of Java in this case is portability, and flexibility, as you can use it with any JVM-language. As for PHP, incoming flame war: People should use good languages for the web, not broken and inconsistent ones :) |
