maybe it's just me but the map one seems pretty simple to me

in the corrupted cyclone teaser video we see a corrupted area "punishing chamber of balance"

that's two mods for that corrupted area.

maps can have 6. add 2 from corrupted. simple math?

what happens in a corrupted area is another question though.

my guess is atziris armys roam wraeclast and ambush/invade you?

or you ambush/invade her armys in corrupted areas?

either way you'll never be quite sure if you really want to mess with them
because in corrupted areas your fancy new corrupted gear/gems might not work as well as outside of corrupted areas?

but it's the only places to get new corrupted loots so you'll want to check it out nevertheless?

I think the Vaal Orb will just add another tier of Crafting to Maps and Items. A high risk, high reward, type mid-tier Crafting option.

I don't think it'd limit the use of Eternals, at least, not the use of Imprints after a "failed" Vaal Orb.

But I love that it'll be common/cheap, like a Chaos. We may yet see better and easier mid-tier Gear as a result, and make it easier for poor people/noobs/people starting out in Ambush/Invasion. ^.^


Regardless, I can't wait to see more on Corruption.

If it really will add 2 stats on every Item I cant wait for the perfect 8 Stat Elemental Hit Wand Tripple Ele Roll+Wed+Critchance and Multi Attackspeed+Increased fire/lightning Dmg I could come all over that wand ;)

My money is on the orb having a small chance to permanently delete the item.

I think that maybe you can only use a Vaal Orb on each Item, once. Meaning if you don't get the Corrupted "type" that you want, you need to buy a completely new Base to roll again..

Inb4 shitty 1Chaos Uniques become higher in demand, as people try to roll interesting Corrupted Mods that may make them actually good. :P

I'm thinking you can keep further corrupting your item, increasing a random attribute (quality, affixes, level etc.) at the risk of destroying it and losing all your hard work.

Similar to how Enchanting/Enhancing/Upgrading Items usually works in Korean MMOs..
Once you reach a certain point, you risk losing the Item/your investment, making really high-end upgraded Gear, extremely expensive.

But I guess that's no different than YOLO Exalting, with a bomb set to detonate should you roll Thorns.. :P

Chris states somewhere (I can't remember where, maybe reddit?) that they have no interest in creating BoA mechanics with their items, so you shouldn't be worried!
