Act 4
The plan is for each act they plan to remove difficulty lvls completely. So you will not have any replay through acts. It will just be a complete Act 1 - Act 10 finish. Then of course end game maps.

" Where did you read this? As far as i know, they planned on releasing new acts as optional places to farm alongside act 4. |

" I made a long and extremely ambitious post** about this concept months ago, before I was a moderator. It was pure speculation then and I believe it remains almost pure speculation now. What I do know is that parallel acts have also been discussed -- multiple paths to 100, as it were. This is almost as exciting as the removal of difficulties altogether. As I said in that other thread, the difficulty level repetition is a residual flaw of Diablo 1 -- except at least with D1 you had cycling quests, thus improving the replay value. The ideal to me would be one very large world, no repeating content or difficulties, multiple areas at the same level. This would make PoE resemble far more its Guild Wars 1 model (public towns, instanced zones -- this isn't a fluke, people) than the much less impressive D1/D2 model of a few acts repeated 3 times. That is a LONG WAY DOWN THE TRACK. But if I could imagine the 'perfect' PoE, that's what it would look like. The big argument against one big difficulty level from a player's perspective is that some people like to complete the same quest multiple times (in each difficulty). It is my belief that with GGG changing the Bandit quest rewards per difficulty that they're already on the way to 'non repetitive' quest rewards across the difficulties. As for act 4: it is in development. But just as important to me are gradual polishing points for acts 1 and 2. Act 3 craps all over acts 1 and 2 in a lot of areas... **Warning: linked thread is very out-dated as regards end-game but the heart's in the right place. I think. (Although it's interesting to see how many of the posters became mods and diamonds.) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between. I am by no means a hardcore player of this game, But I do remember joining up early last year. Above post brings back memories, when act 3 was a dream, and the maelstrom was filled with a lot of uncertainty for my summoner witch. Many spectres running minion instability, had fun running with a glass cannon back then. I for one do not miss the 4th difficulty, and would welcome additional acts to support this model. 2 play throughs would be a dream 1 would be cream-worthy. MCAussie MCServer. MCWin.

" So it would be like a non-mmo style mmo? I like it. FAQ: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/36608

With 10 Acts, Acts 1-3 could be as difficult as normal, with Acts 4-6 ramping it up to Cruel, and then Acts 7-9 being quite Merciless, with Act 10 being in a difficulty-level as by itself! :D

I want to stipulate something here I missed with my first few posts: the actual story would have to at Act 9. Act 10 would, I think, be a mini-act that explains Maps in a narrative context.
That or maybe have act 5 do that too. So you'd have two tiers of Maps -- one mid-game, one end. I dunno, the possibilities are endless, really. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Maybe a snowy area with mountains. Or something with lava. Or (combined) frozen volcano, with ruins of dead city.
