How much Orb of Fusing does it take to make a 6 link item?

Not years. Not even months. Gear up with your 5-L and start grinding fusings. You can trade up from alts. Well equipped, you wont take a month of play to get enough fusings for a serious attempt.

It has to be this way or else the game would have to be balanced assuming that everyone had one or two on each character. You'd be here complaining about how the game forced you to grind in order to even have a chance.

The current system is in place so that you have the choice, and can benefit from the extra link.

If you just want a 6L... any 6L... you can get them by using Vaal Orbs on items. That seems to be a quicker route.

I don't know how much you play, but I do know that if you only found 300 fusings in 1 year you are doing something seriously wrong. It is hard to give advice on a more efficient playstyle, when we cannot see you :) You will have to find out how to deal with that better yourself :)

However are you aware that you can trade 2 alteration orbs into 1 jeweler orb and 4 jeweler orbs into 1 fusing? This means that every 20 alterations = 2,5 fusings. I don't know about you, but to me alterations (even 20) come in rather fast.

When the words "just trade for it, it's easyer and cheaper" are used as often as they are in PoE, there is clearly something wrong with the design.

I miss a good aRPG that is not centered around trading. I miss D2. Yes we had trading there, but the drop rates was not made with trading in mind.

Yah I kinda wanted to have fun playing this game with self found stuff.. but from what people are saying this is not a self found game, this is a trade only game which is not a good thing for a game to be.... So now I just play to farm currency to buy all my items... kinda disappointing..
