How much Orb of Fusing does it take to make a 6 link item?

The most efficient way is to do Merciless Dominus runs (skip everything before him from WP, just do the boss fight) with decent MF. In Ambush right now for instance if I cull him with 220 / 35 he drops about 2 full inventories worth of rare items. ID them all and sell them for alteration shards. You can leave your MF set in your stash - just portal back when he's <10% life, swap in, and use a skill with Culling Strike to kill him.

If you can't do Dominus, same can be done for Piety. Takes more time to get to her and she doesn't drop as much, but the boss fight is easier.

Short of that, I guess I'd probably farm City of Sarn with a decent amount of MF on.

In any case, only pick up rares and maybe blue jewelry. ID them all and sell them for shards. Also make sure to keep an eye out for the 2 Chaos recipe.

** Assuming you don't want to trade. If you want to trade, same thing, but keep an eye out for valuable rares and put them in a shop thread.

If everyone thought like that there would be some very rich crafters out there... Someone need to craft in order to supply the market, if nobody else does it prices would rise a lot. In the end it all comes down to - do you feel like gambling or do you want to take the safe road?

Yes, people doesnt mind to spend +10-30$ for an ex or even +200$ for a Mirror of Kalandra - so they go, pay and then win.

I have 6-linked two items during my time of playing(late closed beta), 1st try took ~15 fusings and the 2nd took 7 fusings. Funny thing was I didn't even try to get 6-link on any of them, just a 4-link+2-link on one and 5-link on the other.
That being said, I have tried to get 6-link on other stuff and haven't succeeded, probably spent close to 1000 fusings on those.
So what I've learned from this is that you should never try to get 6-link, just let it happen randomly =P

Oh, and I've found two 6-links, one in closed beta and one it late nemesis.

Mate, trust me, you can play SF easily in this game. There are loads of players, myself included who choose to not trade. Nothing wrong with trading and if you are desperate for a 6L then trading is more than likely going to be more efficient unless you get mega lucky.

I think one of the main attractions of SF is the fact that something like a 6L item is almost unattainable. Its the never-ending (almost) chase for perfection.

Theres ZERO content you cannot do with just a 4L.

5L is always my aim in leagues and as a SF player, I understand that a 6L is almost never in the equation. Therefore, I never complain or call for buffs or whatnot.

You have to id to get alt shards, otherwise you're getting transmutation shards. ID everything, and try not to become so desensitized to the massive amounts of garbage you get to not notice if something half decent and stashworthy comes along. If you find your wisdom scrolls drops aren't keeping up with your item drops, you can sell magic items unid'd for trans shards, then vendor the trans orbs you accumulate for wisdom scrolls, and use those to ID rares for Alt shards.
