Corrupted zones + currency(+additional non currency method)
" Ah ok I see what you mean, I would totally be on board for that. My initial suggestion when CA were first introduced was just to give map bosses a slight chance to drop fragments but I think this is a more elegant solution that splits up the action in a favorable way so +1 from me! " these 'bloods' would be very same to the existing currencies, even more as they can be traded. And it would need a new layer of mechanic (actually not existing in POE) to change this behaviour to an char- or account-binding. You can not even make them temporarily, because you cant foresee when one'll meet the next area... invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" is that a bad thing though that they would be a new currency? maps can already be traded so I dont see an issue here really R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.

There vallue would be minimal depending on benefits, since the only benefit is a better xp%ratio for higher level characters, i don't think they will be very valuable.
But yes they could be used to "sweeten" a deal since it is after all a bartering system. And a lvl 78 "blood sacrifice" would be worth a bit more then a lvl 72 version, but i imagine this is logical since defeating dominus/courtyard bosses is far more intense then killing a 72 boss. This is one of the reasons why i did not include higher shard drop rate within this suggestion, because that would make it a currency worth quite a lot. given the size of a CA, a blood sacrifice would roughly be equivalent to 1/6 a map of the same lvl value. (given current ambush rates, not a whole lot :) ) But one of the main benefits imo, would be the fact you could run act1/2 CA's for midnight shards, now these are just disregarded and everybody is running act3 for CA's. (i imagine that's a lot of work from the dev's being neglected?) I would not make them account bound, since some players simply hate farming CA's, while others do not. So this would create an additional market and there is nothing wrong with that imo. Thx for the responses so far. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
