Oh damn! I didn't know you could kill the portals.

Still, her lightning is nasty...

I just died several times on her without doing any damage. Turns out, a set of cheap topaz lightning resistance rings makes this fight soooo much easier. I drank all my health potions while standing still firing arrows at her, and she went down relatively quickly.

Nevermind: I was talking about the crematorium fight and didn't realize this was about the Act 3 fight.

I think I actually giggled the first time I realised I could kill those portals when we were alpha-testing Piety. It was like 'oh, GGG, you're not just throwing a stupidly overpowered bitch at me after all! I have a chance here!'

Fighting Piety for the first time on Normal difficulty with a bow Ranger, the biggest challenge for me was the low FPS and high latency I was experiencing that made her hard to follow, especially the transformations (my tactics were to run away when she was in fire or cold form and pelt her with arrows when she was in normal form). She almost got me a couple of times with her fire form, but other than that it was fine. I didn't bother to work out where the minions were coming from because arrow fodder -> more flask charges.

I'm sure Cruel and Merciless will be a very different story, though.

Personally I thought she was one of the easiest boss' but more power to you, keep trying and tweaking some things I'm sure you will get it :)

Same here... I was prepared to die a horrible death after reading all the forum threads about her, then I went in and was like "thats it?"

Done without deaths on my first playthrough, solo with self found gear
There is nothing hard about her at all as long as you have good resists

Run when she turns into super fast form, hide behind pillars when she turns into archer form, and murder her in every other situation

idd last night me and a friend got her down in the end, we both have over 2.5k life and 77% lighting and cold rese yet she still 2 shots you with ice arrows ect

Word of Warning...

Don't play a Summoner with Skellie Summon Totem on Piety, unless you can kill her in a few tries.

I almost killed my GTX 670 on that fight.

Let's just say, skeleton corpses don't despawn. Or w/e the blood pebbles from them dying leave on the ground.

So after 20 or so deaths on here with over 1000 skeletons being summoned/killed...

That area literally almost fried my GPU...

Finally took her down as my GPU was reaching 85c, and having to turn all the settings down to the lowest they go as my card's fan was maxing out.

So uh ya, maybe GGG wants to change skeleton corpses and have them actually disappear eventually.

Never gotten above 60c under load in any game I've played on max settings but this game in that area nearly fried it.

This may also be related to the 5 different "Summon Skeleton FPS, GPU Heat Issue" threads we have posted that haven't been addressed.

Tip for any melee character (hurray, we actually have something FOR us!), plant a decoy totem in a corner and watch her walk to it, bump her up and keep smashing while she is out of room to move. This made her fight so much easier than Hit, drink all my potions while running away , TP and around again. :)
