" Often the former, sometimes the latter (we're all delusional at times), but this time you simply didn't get what I was trying to say :) In MMOs you can easily play one character forever and stay motivated. In ARPGs this isn't really possible because at some point you will be decked out with (near) BiS items and literally faceroll everything (alternatively you can let your cat farm lvl 78 maps or Atziri). That's why good ARPGs offer build variety (reroll >9000 times) and reset seasons/leagues every once in a while (start from scratch aka reroll >9000 times). " How is torment 6 when you have hundreds of paragon levels and (near) BiS items? Isn't it the same faceroll? GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Probably. Then again, i don't play torment 6 nor did i do the comparison. You are asking the wrong guy. I assume that OP feel that while D3 is similar in terms of gear and stats (a certain treshold on godly items etc) it differs in term of super-lategame difficulty. Just a guess. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1552460 - my drop solution

" Hm me neither, that's why I was asking (genuine question) :) Guess we have to wait for some D3 experts to tell us. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" While I won't touch a blizzard or activision branded game I just did a quick search on google for youtube videos and there are a few thousand of them showing people facerolling torment 6 on various builds. https://www.google.com/#q=diablo+3+ros+torment+6+faceroll&tbm=vid So I'll have to go with yes there... but then again I don't think I've seen any arpg ever match hard mode in guild wars 1 to be blunt and doubt I will again. |

" Not even Dungeon Siege 1 on the highest difficulty setting ? Hmm come to think of it maybe I had a difficulty mod for that game as well. =) |

dungeon siege on hard was pretty brutal
although the difficulty was only monsters having insane hp and damage modifiers, it could take 30 seconds to down a single mob in the late game due to the massive hp pools Dogs Summoner - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/885199

" Oh ya, some hard mode areas in guild wars 1 were beyond brutal because the mobs were THAT nasty... amped up with vastly improved AI and team wide skills that meshed incredibly well. You had to have a perfect build, perfect team composition and perfect plan and even then it was down to luck in some places. You would have healers shielding/healing/rezzing each other, mobs protecting each other, mobs doing crowd control at the worst time on the player you need the most, mobs changing target to focus fire on the most dangerous target, debuffs being removed, skills being countered, traps being set, AoEs being dodged, cross mob skill combos... the whole works. Normal mode not so much and not all of hard mode, but hard at times (there was one area in the mountains in particular with titans and hydras) required everything be set up perfect. While it had amped up speed on the monster's skills and ramped them 8 levels higher then you could be it. A large chunk of hard mode's nastiness was the AI and tactical differences that made the difference between the challenge modes where in other games it was all number inflation. And even at the top level of gear, skills and with a perfect build you could still in some areas be shredded by a normal level mob a few levels lower then you if you messed up badly or did a really bad pull. edit - if your curious it is stuff like this that I was referencing, and this link is to the four horsemen quest on hard mode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu6XjYE9unU Последняя редакция: Jiero#2499. " No, actually its not. T6 is deadly and requires well trained fingers and smart choices to survive it. Only 1 D3 build I made can run it decently, and its a cookie-cutter OP build, and its still challenging. I hope to come up with a less popular build that can run T6, but so far no dice. Anyway, its fun to be challenged. |
