You don't have to play this game. Its not GGG's fault that people are taking advantage of their software, and GGG is perfectly within their rights to try to protect their IP and create a better gaming experience for the players. If you don't like that you don't have to play.

Have you played a game on steam with VAC enabled? Well, good news. You've been giving Gaben information about your processes. Who cares.
It just reads the processes. It doesn't read how much gay porn you've been looking at or whatever.
Actually, a lot of anti-cheat software for games do this exact same thing. It's the only way for them to be sure you're not cheating.

Exactly. People overreacting about GGG finding hax programs on their PC actually do use hax, or so one has to assume as i dont care what GGG does when POE runs. POE runs, they get to check my PC for software that messes with the game and i get to play POE for free still, as usual.
So youre right, people get to uninstall the free game they so generously agreed the TOS to and play something else. Oh wait, all game companies get data from people who play their games...

I'm not an IT guy I'm an electrical engineer. My team designs a chip that is in every iPhone on the planet. If you think those are equivalent then we aren't on the same page iintellectually.

Then everyone became outraged when they found out that the NSA was, in fact, spying on them.
