remove poison's double dip, decrease base damage of bladefall by 15%, problem solved

Nah. Double dipping is awesome. It's pretty much the only way to avoid crit and maintain respectable damage. Of course, some builds crit and double-dip too, but it's normally not enough defensive investment if you try to go heavy into both on the passive tree.
I do think Poison should be 5% for 4 seconds instead of 10% for 2, though. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Double dip is a broken mechanic that allows for achieving ridicoulus damage for lowish investment cost and should be either nerfed or removed. Lower damage output of non crit builds is a matter that should be touched in a way that wouldnt increase crit builds damage (like controlled construction, what a fail)

" Being allowed to bypass reflect is horrible. Reflect allowed melee vs ranged balance and AOE vs single target. But since you can/could completely trivialize it's existence it never fully realized this potential. Instead of a "slow down" mechanic it became an "incorporate to ignore" mechanic. Being able to somewhat clear maps using a lvl 1 BF and crap gear is a bit OP tbh. And I've tried that.
But the issue itself isn't with BF, but with poison. Sure it's fun to roflstomp through the content, but rest assured that at least poison will see some downscaling. The issue i see with BF i neither poison, nor its damage on its own, its that GGG reintroduced something that "shotguns".
First they remove it from all projectile things, now they reintroduced two skills that do what shouldnt be possible. Both blastrain and bladefall do something that was deemed too powerful and thus removed, and it makes no sense whatsoever to reintroduce it on a whim. (and i guess bladefalls insane damage efficiency doesnt really help either, when all other largeish AoE skills are 60-80%) And yes, i know its not shotgunning, its overlapping AoE. But still. |
