VP was never the problem
" Wormblaster was killed because it cause to much stress on the servers. As well as CoC, Mjolners, etc. Though i agree, it seems that GGG are against of having any real tanks in PoE. IGN: MortalKombat

" They don't care about our performance just the servers ;) on topic I'm happy with their change to VP, but not happy about where they relocated it too as it seems dumb to put it next to the only class that doesn't need it lol. I was also onboard with most of their changes for 3.0 and wasn't really satisfied with the results though, primarily I wanted to see double dipping removed as it was so heavily utilized and abused but they actually didn't replace it with anything (bleed is meh atm, ignite is ruined beyond belief) This was the same as their ES changes, destroying ES really doesn't make the game any better but they hit it from like 9 angles at once when only one was required. There are still ES characters crushing everything but its almost like they have flat scalers completely unrelated to the changes they made *cough* guardian *cough*. Basically try to get it right GGG most of the knock-ons for your balance changes are predicted in hundreds of places and the last few times the arm-chair developers have come out better than they should. Glad to see VP nerf screeches

" VP is now next to the leech nodes in the duelist tree. It does make sense to have it there, VP is a leech thingy, next to leech nodes. Slayer doesnt need it today, but he might after he gets gutted in 3.1. Vaal Pact being gutted is a good change if the game is rebalanced. Is that likely to happen? Think about this - insane monster damage we have now, it was set back when we all played 12k ES builds. Let me say it again. Monster damage is still balanced around 12k ES builds with Vaal Pact. Everyone said "they will rebalance the game after nerfing ES"... Ahm... lol. However, you never know. They did balance volatiles after years of complaining from the community, maybe they will see the light now too? Pray the test dummies they use for balancing suggest insane monster damage gotta get reduced and reflect gotta go. 177 Последняя редакция: toyotatundra#0800. Время: 20 нояб. 2017 г., 10:08:43

" the link doesn't work can you fix it? I really want to see I bashed my head on PoB early in 3.0 trying to come up with any kind of viable ignite and couldn't manage lol |

" I get what your saying but my current understanding is different, VP is sat between shadow/ranger because those are the classes that need leech, don't have access to much regen and also don't have access to leech rate. If your going to travel to slayer you already have access to quite a bit of additional leech rate but its also costing those characters a very heavy point investment as well as focusing primarily on attacks instead of both. Its new position makes much more sense in a drawback sense as there is substantial regen in duelist but I can't help but feel that shadows will suffer in the long run by having both bad leech and bad regen (tricksters aside) |

For me the only problem is damage reflect.
You risk your rip to this stupid mechanic, and that's why people don't play selfcast spellcasters. What is the point of reflect if you can easy make safe content with ranged stuff like mines or totems? |

I really do not get what all the fuss is about :)
My first PC was a Tandy TRS80 in 1973, so I have seen a lot of games come and go. I have no qualms at all with the way GGG tries to improve the game going forward. While some developers cater to the lowest common denominator and follow the path of least resistance I am heartened that GGG seems to actually care about the game they have created. I find it odd that people protest when GGG makes changes to some skill post-league that was found to be overly effective shall we say. I sometimes wonder if there really are people out there who would enjoy a game where you can face roll content forever, I prefer to believe the majority of people enjoy a game that is somewhat challenging on an on-going basis. GGG has no way to predict what will transpire with builds once final patches go live, alpha/beta testers are in no way sufficient to discover what the masses will come up with. Just as EVE Online devs never imagined anyone would live inside worm holes and yet they do. It never ceases to amaze me how the community is happy to moan about balance changes between leagues. You would think the sky had fallen in when the ES changes were announced, and yet the world kept turning, we all jumped on the life meta and had a ball in Harbinger. I have no real issues with how GGG changes the game, I am confident things are constantly improving. Let them change VP, let them change whatever they deem needs to be changed, it really doesn't faze me, I know I will be sitting there waiting to get in queue next league like most of you. We have a few GGG staff in my guild, so I know they care and play the game just as we do. The double dipping nerfed my beloved EQ Slayer, but a fresh league brought fresh new approaches to things. All I can say is bring it, new league I will be there VP or no VP :) OCEANIC EXILES https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/581434
