RIP mapping

This is just silly. The small amounts of wealth being pushed into the economy from Vaults is like a drop in an ocean. Nice try though.

Either you are pulling in 20 exalts per hour (quoted from several threads) per person pulling these shenanigans, or you are not. Based upon the average player, which I believe I'm closer to that is much more than a "Drop in an ocean." Nice try though.

Ahh the good old 'but I've heard' stories. In other words you don't know anything, you just randomly join a discussion with no experience besides hearsay.

It only takes common sense to realize this is just a drop in the economy, but apparently you lack that. So just look at the evidence. Were exalted much cheaper then other leagues? Nop. Were any items super expensive because of 'super inflation', nop. Actually most items were cheaper then previous leagues.

So ye, I'm calling bullshit.

You'll roflstomp all content either way. What's the point of minmaxing when the difference between minmaxed and non-minmaxed build is that everything dies 0.1 seconds faster?

Do you have any long term goals in that game? Collecting rare items, crafting of gear that isnt obtainable anymore after some point?

Its great if you have different goals and it would be great if you could accept the goals of others too.

This is besides the point they're trying to make. All this has been achievable through trading for the longest time. Whether sextanted Vaults exist or not makes no difference in this matter.

Thing is, it is not like NO ONE can get rich right now. Traders still can. Why it is good game design when playing the market yields more than playing the maps in min-maxed setup by 10x times?

It's not about good/bad game design; it's what GGG wants PoE to be like. Getting rich has been the distinct trait of trading ever since I started playing PoE. And probably before, but I wouldn't know about those times.

There's no way of making mapping as profitable (or even close to) as trading without pigeonholing the rest of us to map the same way the elite few does. Right now we, the majority, get enough currency from mapping but if the game was balanced around the few elite's needs we'd be forced to run nothing but sextanted Vaults as well if we wanted to get currency for anything.

You are right, 1 things isn't much variety. It's much better to have zero things. *sigh*

So farming is bad uh? It's better to force trading for mirror tier items. Are you even reading what you are saying lol. How can farming your ass off mapping, wich yielded even in the last league much much less then any serious trader could yield in the same amount of time, be worse then only allowing trade to be able to generate wealth. This is like the stupidest argument I've seen in a while on the forum.

You're being so self-centered that you don't see how the things you want would affect the people outside of the elite few. Yes, I think forcing trade to get mirror tier items is good for the game; yes, I think it's fair that trade lords have that much more currency than the rest do. In the current state of the game they still need to balance their prices in consideration for us, the common folk, because we're the main source for their massive wealth.

Let mapping be as profitable as trading and suddenly anyone who doesn't map 10 hours a day won't need to dream about getting any great gear through trade. This would've happened with sextanted Vaults eventually; considering the size of the player base, Vaults were a relatively "new" thing. Give it a league or two and it'll become the basis for all mapping, with maxed out efficiency and guides on how to reach it. It's at THIS point that prices start surging, leaving us common folk behind.

Fine, you think trading should be the only way to get some decent returns in this game, and I disagree.

For the second part, you really need to stop talking about things that you don't understand. I'm not even gonna start responding to what you said about mapping. You should probably get some experience first.

Mirror tier gear is "decent returns"? Yeah, we'll just have to disagree on that one.

Just because I don't trade doesn't mean I don't follow prices. The prices affect what I can and can't do in a league after all.
Mapping is something more than bisco's and exalts. Sextants were fun because they added a lot of stuff that you could combo with prophecies and other map mods, breaches were really fun too. OP is just focusing on wealth more than anything.

Ofcourse, 1 Shaped Vault and boom mirror tier items just fall from the sky. The fuck are you even talking about man? To get 1 item you would need to farm Shaped vaults for weeks probably longer. How long is long enough?
This game is change quite drastically every 3-4 months. Sextants was added to the game in august 2016 and somehow people play poe before (shocker!)

Seriously if you can't adapt go play D3. This game has't change in last few years.

always found mapping profitable personally
even without sextants
even without biscos..

Yes it takes more effort now that's a good thing, league economy hopefully isn't going to be dead in under 2 weeks like usual now, so there's no reason you should have to be able to get your big chase items first week.

Me personally even without using sextants or bisco's i generally manage to 6l my stuff and get pretty big before a full week passes. I purposefully avoided both of them because I knew it would sour my experience when they were nerfed due to how blatantly broken they are.

Too lazy to search, but a lesser metric from this thread:

"
lol? 70 ex? " when I was done with league" man good players are able to doo 70 ex in 2/3 days not in 2/3 months - u rekt urself with that post

"Good players" dropping 35/ex per day certainly devalues the orb significantly. I have to admit though, your only points are largely surrounded with Ad Hominem so you're clearly not even worth these two sentences and I hate that I'm going to write two more with someone clearly not worth the time.

Exalted Orbs have changed in value significantly over time. No idea when you started playing; but 20C:1Ex was the ratio when I started.
Thanks for all the fish!
