syndicate makes poe finally halfway challenging again.
(since we're just making ten thousand syndicate threads instead of posting in any of the already existing ones...)
this is seriously the most fun i've had in poe in years. the syndicate safehouses could be harder (they seem strangely easier than the random encounters), but whatever. since there are floods of threads from people with zero defenses complaining... and people complaining about having to weigh risk:reward of whether to rank up syndicate members or not, i thought i'd post a positive thread for it. i like having to think and weigh options instead of just nuking entire screens while watching tv. i like that defensive options matter now. kudos. edit: welp, fun's over. I got to maps on SC without any trouble and started to lose interest pretty quickly once the grind set it, so I’ve been trying on SSF HC to really test my game knowledge and build strength. I’ve learned a lot more about the game and even though I haven’t made it past Act 6 or so, I am really enjoying it. I’m playing as max block gladiator with Herald of Agony (there are lots of guides about this build). So HoAg does the killing for me, and I stay alive while proving virulence stacks. I level up every Syndicate boss I can too. My two deaths have not been on Syndicate bosses but the first on a dumb mistake and the second in Delve, which I’ve learned never to do with Cyclone again, unless I first get enough darkness resist for when it strays off the path (duh!). I have to say, after about 2500 hours on another account, there is something very pleasurable about not having to trade and interact with players, not having to run with parties etc. Just me and the game and having to think really carefully about every choice. For defence, I get max resists asap, I look for rares with 1-2 suffixes and craft on a suffix 9-12% chaos resist on every item if I have the currency. For defence I use whatever I can get to work: block chance, evasion, endurance charges, fortify, arctic armour, decoy totem, LGoH, leech, regen, etc. Syndicate encounters, red beasts, Kitava etc, have all been easy. I read on the forums that there are big jumps in the difficulty with Syndicate bosses in red maps, so perhaps it will be much tougher then, but the difficulty of this league has been good for my understanding of mechanics etc. I enjoyed Delve too, and now I wish I had tried the same there. I got to 400 depth with an occultist tri-curse self-cast arc, but mostly played as cursebot. Finally, I will say, I read the forums regularly, and there are more complaints this time than any other league I’ve played in (started with Beastiary). And a few people like myself enjoying it (even though I honestly can’t figure out how syndicate works tbh). " You have to remember that those who are unhappy will be much more vocal about it than those that are happy. Just because you see "a lot" of complaints, doesn't mean most people don't enjoy the league, it means there are people complaining, that's all. Could be 0.1% of the player base for all we know. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.

I couldn't disagree more, it's not challenging, it's simply unbalanced, currently, some Syndicate enconters are way harder than some other enconters that are actually a "higher tier" than those said enconters; including inside the syndicate even; for exemple, I would take a safehouse anyday than a Fortfication;
Hell, I would even dare to say tha MM is actually easier than Fortfications; It's not fun, and it's actually making me lose interest in the game. |

This league is amazing, for sure the best one I've ever played. I really hope GGG will not nerf syndicate to the ground, like a lot of whiners propose. If u can't handle members of syndicate just fix ur squishy build!

" Dude you have piddly life, like no ES, just ele resistance isn't enough. If you're pure life, you need like 7k at least, pure ES 8k. I'd be surprised if you have more than 3.5k life with that gear and passives. You're better off crafting ES gear with fossils. |
