I left my Champion at 45 because there was no way i could deal with these stupid encounters in a proper manner.

Damage Spikes over 9000. (literally) and a huge clusterfuck of skills and effects turning a otherwise healthy pack of punch into a nuklear strike.

They should tame the members. Its just ridicoulus.
(maybe only for earlygame where you dont have all your stuff but they do....not sure)


I am at T10 right now, but my NPC´s tend to have 2 or 3 stars with items and it is ok.

Don´t get me wrong, I agree that some things need a look at, but that is for instance, the massive healing they can get. As for example Riker, he ports out of the fort, does his 1-2 punch, you take him down to 50% and he just teleports into the fort. This is kind of silly :)

The chaos damage like with Tora, can be worked around if you play a CI build or stack chaos resistances. I am at 0% right now, so it´s not perfect, but I notice an improvement.

I honestly find the mobs that spawn (most do chaos), much more annoying, than the actual NPCs. No matter if corpse explosion or these super fast missile attacks, it can be hard to dodge for a melee, as you simply put, don´t see enough to track those things.

My build is not yet great, still having a hard time to get my 5k HP, still need some good items, but I choose to fight them with max stars and items, it´s my fault if I die then, which sometimes happens indeed.

As soon I run red maps with vaal orbs, it will become too hard with 3 stars, unless I get better items. I know that and tweaks are most likely required, but I disagree that it would be too hard, as we players make it that hard ourselves, by not having capped chaos, while playing with too many ranks :D

The big problem with nerfs is always, that they will destroy the league mechanic. If Syndicate becomes a walk in the park, they will also nerf the rewards and then it´s going to be as terrible as Delve or Beastiary was after they nerfed it. I prefer big rewards and hard fights, than no rewards and easy ones.
you need to take out the fort doors. otherwise, they'll keep teleporting and healing.

Maybe we need some other defensive options (alternatives rather than powercreep). Maybe all of the game’s content should have been buffed more reasonably rather than certain encounters being buffed like crazy. Maybe the community would benefit from helping players with bad defenses learn to improve instead of being dicks about it.

I have a hunch GGG will indeed nerf syndicate encounters based on all this feedback - hopefully not too drastically - so be prepared for more “oh woe is PoE in 2018/19” lamentations. It’ll be hyperbole then as it is now.

That is actually a much more well put feedback regarding syndicate member's damage output imho.
I would be fine with encounters being pretty dangerous even with corret/good defenses in red maps though, those are the highest levels after all.

Regarding hepling players with bad defenses .... i don't know if you have followed, but there has been many cases of people (including me) poiting out some flaws in people's builds or just the fact that they have no defenses and this is the reason why they die ... and well, it jumps directly to "white knight", "troll" etc ....
Because many just do not want to be told that they are doing something wrong.
Not everybody of course, but among the QQers .... quite a bit.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Well I have yet to reach yellow map (despite being already lvl 80) so I dont know how hard they were before the nerf but fortification encounter was the most challenging but I would say the fact that there is so much thing that happen at the same time was more of a problem than the syndicate themselves.


But Betrayal has really shown me :
1- The main game is too easy
2- We are leveling also too fast
3- Vaal gem are way too powerfull


Everything is way too powerful. If it wasn't for Delve's introduction the game could be done in like a week, two week tops until your character becomes too strong for everything around them.
I found the mechanic to be ok, it will be sad if the challenge from it is now gone. Guess I will find out soon. Fortification was kind of tedious to do, but it wasn't challenging.
