'Legacy' items policy, re:patch 0.10.5

I'm going to play devil's advocate here...

I paid 20 exalts and traded it for Silverbranch last month, I paid 20 exalts for a +2 level to Bow Gem bow, not a +1 level Bow Gem, I wouldn't have paid that much if it was only +1. So if GGG is going to change my BOW, I want GGG to give me an option to refund 20 exalts back to me, and they can delete my bow from my inventory.

You paid 20 Ex. for a Silverbranch? Really? The item is in my shop since forever. I didn't get even a 1 Chaos offer for it. So I'm having a pretty hard time believing this.

Even as you're hypothetically speaking, it still means nothing. The items are not even yours. Your are using content that GGG licenses to you. It's not actually yours. GGG can do whatever they like with their items. Balancing them is actually a good thing.

Was this Silverbranch move a good one? No, I don't think it was necessary. But I doubt they will go back on it. Devs have their pride, you know, even when wrong, they won't probably admit it.

I think I may be missing something here but if not... Lollllllll

I give silverbranch bows away for free.. they are good from like lvl 1-15...

I would understand if u were QQing if they nerfed kaoms to like 500hp instead of 1000 (they should IMO) But this is like complaining that they changed the red straws in your kindergarten lunch blue.

A more apt question is what is going to happen to Koams, when GGG finally gets around to 'balancing' it, since its build both defining, and valuable.

Its not about the Silverbranch itself, its the whole going down the legacy path.

Also some of the issue is they may be letting race balance effect the normal leagues.

I don't think they will ever mess directly with it. They know what mess they would get themselves in, especially as there are quite a few complaints even for a low level bow.

I just bought a soon-to-be legacy Silverbranch for cheap to throw on my lowbie PA ranger. It was the right thing to do in terms of gameplay and the trading aspect of the game, but I don't feel good about it. I felt like I needed to drop what I was doing and log in ASAP to buy this item, and that reminds me a lot of the bad F2P games that make you feel obligated to log in every day. I never want to feel that way with PoE.

The whole experience was lame. I wouldn't mind if GGG decided to nerf my existing Silverbranch.

<Facepalm>, <Double Facepalm>, no I obviously did not paid 20ex for that bow O_o, the point is not about the bow, is about how people are demanding if GGG make any changes to a gear, it shouldn't be changed just on new drops, the changes should also apply to ALL items in the game. I'm just pointing out the fact that some people might not like this idea if they have already purchased the item from another player and then find out later it's getting nerfed. Personally I don't really care, this is a free game, in beta, and all items are virtual, they're not real, so GGG can do what they want.

GGG can do whatever they like with their items." just contradicts your own argument, because right now this is EXACTLY what GGG is doing, but everyone is crying about it, people are not remembering that "GGG can do whatever they like with their items".

Nobody knows what do all the silent people think. This argument is often used as a last resort when disagreeing with many but holds a little value. Even devs clearly stated that legacy items are 'unfortunate' byproduct (of laziness, they even said there is a cure, just requires some work). We just want them to man up and do something about it.
