Q : What is an exalted orb?
A : Overrated. Explanation : Opinionated. Heres the thing. I have often wondered how the general public (or who ever is responsible) has put such a ludicrous value on Exalteds, when IMO, they are utter garbage when compared to a Divine. Lets think about this for a minute. You have a awsome piece of gear, with all the right mods on it, but the rolls came out a lil low on some key mods. You use a divine, and lose nothing of what you had on the armor, but instead have a good chance of making it even better. Now, lets look at the exalted. You use it, with no gaurantee of anything, in fact, theres a great chance it will ruin the armor, causeing you to begin the process all over again. I just dont get it. It seems like a no brainer to me, but maybe im missing something crucial about the working of either? /.Shrug GGG - Why you no?

Divines are same rare shit as exalted. CBA which one is more valuable, depends. What i don't understand is part of GGG logic. "Oh well. lets make some orbs rare as hell" Seriously are they game breaking? Of course no! I think Ive played 500+ hrs and have found myself 2 exalt and 1 divine.
Lets assume these orb drops are much more common. Like 5 even 10 times more. So what? Instead of keeping that few orbs in my stash I could use them without so much fear to waste them like I do with alch and chaos occasionally. Maybe out of 10 orbs I would get at least one successful roll. Yeah that would be game breaking for sure... Bullshit makes the flowers grow

" It can make item worse, it randomizes mod values in it's range. Let say you have some mod with value 140 and that mod has a range 130-150. So you can reroll your mod from 140 to 130. But yes, you loose less with divine than with exalted (let's say you add thorns lol). Anyway, exalted and divine orbs give very little benefit compared to their rarity. They have such high value only because of extreme rarity, not because of what actually give you when crafting. " And this is the problem, it stops you from crafting. You will better save it and buy gear for it than add thorns to your desired item (waste orb and item as well). Once again, this system promotes trading over crafting. I totally understand you, I feel the same way. I tried exalt once, got some shit and won't do it again. Now you can buy decent item for 1exalt (of course not 6L weapon or chest with good roll). Let's say take a 4L helmet, you can buy really good one for 1ex, now try make one as good by crafting from white item. Forum is full of good ideas and complaints with arguments. But it seems devs do their weekly shit and don't even care about it.. or they just stick to their own broken vision of the game. Let's see: PoE lost around 60% of playerbase since open beta start. Add another 3 months without good improvements and there will be Kripparian and his const party left (a little bit of sarcasm here) Последняя редакция: walentaz#7429. Время: 23 апр. 2013 г., 15:02:31

Its one orb that you can use in -normally- good items for roll a useless mod
Or you can keep it for buy your gear |

" You found 7 exalted orbs leveling a character to 82??? That is some pretty amazing luck. |

It was insane luck, I invested them in my witch, then devaluation started and got back only 3ex after selling that gear, which I invested in my ranger. And with ranger, luck disappeared, I hardly get alchs and chaoses, hadn't got a fucking gcp in last couple of days (although I play 3-6 hours per day). Kinda funny, when I was rich, everything was so expensive, now, when things got cheap, I'm broken.
It feels like there was some stealth nerf of currency drop rate, but probably I was just lucky back then. Последняя редакция: walentaz#7429. Время: 23 апр. 2013 г., 16:45:31

" No, it isn't a vicious cycle. Your loot drops will not prevent you from progressing unless you are actually incredibly unlucky (a special, very rare case, which requires very different criticism). If you can't progress self found, your build isn't good enough or you aren't good enough, 999 times out of 1000. If you want to progress self found with a lower power build, that is an entirely different complaint. I've found that this is often the real complaint of people who think self found is broken or whatever: they not only want to limit themselves to self found, they also want to limit themselves to hipster builds that deliberately avoid powerful skills. " Why the hell not? What? Are you serious? The gear seen in trade chat represents an aggregation of the best gear found by thousands and thousands of players. If you expect, as a single player, to reliably find gear of the same quality of gear as found by thousands of players aggregated, your expectations cannot be taken seriously. " What is this straw man fucking bullshit? Why the fuck would you ever do a 75+ map with insane mods without good gear/lvl? Do what everyone else did, do 66 maps with easy mods, then slowly move up. Jesus christ are you demanding that self found can beat merc piety and immediately jump into difficult 75+ rare maps? Do you understand how progression and RPGs work?!
