Tempest Shield… The least used skill?

it's usually the % reservation that turns people off. if it was like 15-18% instead of 25%, you'd probably see it used more. it's also annoying because you have to recast each time you zone, so you cant hide it behind a button like other auras.

It's worse.25% is the skill itself,without supports added.With, it's more.Despite that it's usefulf for shielders that can afford it,to reach close to max block.I peronally use it unsupported with my shielder,just for that 4% in addition.

IT needs to eat 10% since it stacks % with stuff like leech and so on, so it gets pretty expensive the more stuff you want to squeeze out of it.

They should make it so searing bond makes a line to any allied totems (including dominated/converted enemy totems, and party members' totems).

If you don't have fat fingers, freeze mine is incredible as a ranged build. I use it with no links on my evasion ranger and I never get hit ever. Just get used to dropping a mine at your feet whenever you stop and detonate whenever something comes near... It's awesome. Freeze entire packs and drop them before they unfreeze is hax

People aren't doing this yet en masse, as the gear requirements are pretty tough, but once you can afford it Tempest Shield is actually the most OP survivability skill in the game. The existence of Tempest Shield + Life Leech, combined with high block chance and spell block, allows for all manner of degenerate caster-tank builds that are far more durable than any melee tank ever could be, simply by having a decent base ES (thanks to Ghost Reaver) and stacking DPS nodes/gear-affixes. There's also nothing stopping such builds from going dual totem, which would be without question the safest way to play. Of course, you'd have to commit to the build very heavily... but throwing away your mana for immortality isn't a bad deal, and thanks to Shavronne's Wrappings you can just reserve more auras off of your life anyway.

so narrow minded, detonate dead owns it just requires some thought, tempest shield can make a gfg low life build when linked properly in a 5 or 6 link

though it should be 4% more block not increased block then more bock builds would use it, ive got max even without this skill

Except that ghost reaver is on the other side of the map from Ancestral Bond, and you also have to get all the block nodes and ES nodes along the way. (And crit nodes, and shock nodes...)

Investing heavily in shield blocking pretty much forces you into a build that traverses 3 of the 6 areas of the skill tree anyway... going Shadow-center-Templar, or Templar-Marauder-Duelist, is something you'd be doing anyway. But you have a point that the game doesn't have unlimited passive nodes, and there are several things competing for attention here.
