Idea for the FFA loot system
how about we remove this stupid loot system cus its a joke anyway

The debate about FFA vs instanced loot reminds me of the debate about Open World vs Arena PvP. FFA loot and and Open World PvP both provide that internet-jungle-troll-zoo type mentality. I, for one, LOVE the drama that comes with exploring the internet-jungle-troll-zoo because it adds to that awesome feeling that hardcore gamers get from besting other players in the jungle and then being able to later say "I Pwned you N00b". Apparently others don't like that aspect of the game, which, IMO, is unfortunate.
With that being said, there is also another reason that loot, for the most part, should remain FFA. Let's take a look at Diablo 2, which also had FFA loot. Despite the FFA loot in D2, people consistently came together to pwn Baal/Cows to gain levels and aquire a small amount of loot. However, hardcore players in D2 knew that the best way to become wealthy was to make a character that could SOLO certain bosses so that they could have all the loot to themselves. And the journey for making that ultimate MF character was a BLAST. If we remove the FFA loot, the hardcore drive to make characters that can handle well while playing solo is significantly diminished, which results in a loss of game-play depth. I can actually make this same argument for providing the motivation to build the ultimate rushing character but I'll leave that argument for another day (and a different thread). |

really think facilitating choice is the answer. Give the party starter the option about which loot method to use. Probably a nightmare to code, but i think the loot ninjas put off a lot of new players.

As long as instanced loot players do not receive the IIQ bonus, fine.

First of all DONT COMPARE THIS GAME TO WOW, are you stupid?
Second, i'm ranged and i cant jump into fking monster lure of mobs to get mine loot... Tank's will ninja all of mine items and YES THAT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY... Its just a matter of time when picking bots appear. Yes! Pickup bots! BECOUSE YOU CANT PICKUP ALL ITEMS IN THE SAME TIME AND MANY RARE ITEMS WILL STAY UNTOUCHED WHEN COUNTERS dissapear. After killing boses for example. Please make this fking counter count for additional 20 seconds. And please, talk about human mentality in some medic psycho forums for slow thinkers using opium.
