Cold-crit CI witch build

im trying to start a witch and crit ci looks interesting, is a wand the best weapon for this build

is dual wand better or a wand and shield is better for this build? slayer

End game, and I mean, end end game. Dual wielding wands is better. Since you get the bonus to cast speed with wands, which you don't with shields.

I would like to share my build that took several revisions until I got this satisfied result. ^_^ This build aim at pure critical frost while having good survivability.

Firstly, you will not get to level 100 at any reasonable amount of time, so counting on 111 points is just silly. Make a build with ~90 points and be satisfied with that result and anything past that is gravy.

Second, chill duration is practically useless. After having a 65 cold witch I can tell you that the mobs don't typically regain full speed, so chill duration points are NOT worth investing in. Unless you plan to kite the mobs, which would defeat the purpose of all your crit.

All those crit nodes is just to much of an investment. You could easily get more dps out of other nodes, such as faster casting and spell damage nodes at the start of witch tree/shadow tree.

Biggest critique of all is that there is a flask in game which guarantees crits with all hits/spells in the next 1.5 seconds. If your damage is high enough you can practically kill any boss mob in that time frame with enough faster cast speed increases. I know my 3 freezing pulses with a diamond flask up kills any boss with frostbite on right now and it is only like 2-2.5k dps with LMP.

Overall solid skill build except for those things. Doesn't seem like you are trying to maximize each point you are spending, but just saying "oh I want to be a cold witch with lots of crit" so you just picked up every crit node in and around witch area then picked up spells that had to do with cold.
