I like their reasoning, too. I always wrinkle my nose when people say a game is good only because it's free, or that the price has any inherit impact on the quality.
For me, and probably for others too, the real investment isn't the money I spend on games, but the time I spend on playing them. I wouldn't sink 100s of hours in a game only because it cost $50, or only because it's free, if I didn't enjoy it, because time is valuable and I want fun and entertainment in return. PoE gives me that. I'm glad the Gamepot editor recognized that. A well-deserved triumph for GGG! | |

1 extra stash for example :). well and now grats PoE win, diablo 3 sux. but diablo 2 still win in item aspect. (like runeworlds and runes and charms) We Want a fast teleport skill for farm boss!!!!!!!!! lightning warp isn't enough good!!!!!!!!! |

Not to rain on your parade but that article is about a game of the year award no?
d3 didn´t come out this year exactly, and while PoE is an excellent game, it feels unfinished when you play it, has a multitude of problems (server issues, desync, large number of bugs and so on), so i really don´t feel poe deserves a game of the year award, not yet. lastly, if blizzard is crying, its a good thing they got alot of money to whipe their tears away with, money that they got from having a few million more players then poe, even today. |

What does Blizzard and D3 have to do with PoE being gamespots goty?
D3 is a completely different game that caters to different players and wasn't even nominated for goty. I don't understand this thread. Sounds like just another useless 'D3 vs PoE' thread. That being said, gz to GGG and PoE for being gamespots goty! |
