So in other words: You've got nothing. Comparing me to a child with a toy and utterly failing to back up your assertion of less concurrency equating to players quitting does not an argument make. Sorry, you lose.

Really? Lower amount of players mean they quit, is that so hard for you to understand :P? The fact is, there are more things in the game driving people away than there is to attract people. It will be the ultimate downfall. Your constant use of the word concurrent does not belong in this topic, pick up a dictionary bud.

I play less each day. Does that mean I quit, too? Hell no. I've been playing for over two years and have simply scaled back my play time until the new league starts.

There are far more actually good reasons why concurrency is less that have absolutely nothing to do with players quitting and judging by how many players are participating in the daily races and how many top players I still see online every day on the ladder, I'd say players are clearly not quitting.

First off, I'm not your bud and I never will be.

Secondly, any steam graph or chart you see is extracting data from http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

This website lists concurrent players. Not total players playing each day, not players who still play but how many players are currently in game and how many peak players were in game concurrently.

The idea that a drop in concurrent players equates to players quitting is pure idiocy. This isn't an MMORPG, this isn't ESPORTS, this game doesn't depend on you playing non stop every day in any way.
Steam stats show that since release only 4.8% of players passed Cruel.

This game needs to convince the player that it is a worthy long-term game to "invest" money into. Do you guys think that the other 95.2% who didn't even complete Cruel quest-line (most likely gear-check stuck with all their orbs gone down the crafting drain, lol :)) are perspective aRPG-ers that will bother to flip some $$ to GGG?

And again, you have absolutely nothing to prove anybody quit. Less concurrent players =/= players quit.

The simple fact of the matter is you have absolutely no idea how many unique players log in each day.

This game was never meant to be a mainstream game.. It was meant to appeal to a "hardcore" D2-like audience.. Many of which probably don't even use steam and continue to support the game. If on top of the steam players and lets say 80% of the player base from closed/open beta still come back for the new leagues, then POE is doing alright..

Where did you get 80% from? All evidence points to 50%, and decreasing each month.

The problem for you fanboys (instead of "fans" such as myself) is you lie to yourselves first, and then to us.

I'm not sure how "hardcore" D2 is suposed to be nowadays, you do realize it's the most popular ARPG of all time, with literally millions of satisfied players? On one hand PoE is supposed to be "oh-so-hurdcore", and then on the other hand it's supposed to appeal to a game which casuals enjoyed just as much as pros.

I'm also expected to believe that all "hardcore" gaming is now centralized around just playing for a few hours and the trading your way to the top? Sorry, but trade-to-win is the antithesis of "hardcore". You guys are so proud of yourselves for buying your way to endgame, what kind of skill goes into that? Zero. That's why a Self Found League scares you guys so much. You all know you couldn't hack it.

I really hope you meant figuratively or else.......well I hope you washed your hands.
Diablo 2 was the World of Warcraft of its time, or maybe a better description is was a very simplified version of Rogue with graphics.

Now Rogue was a hardcore game (ASCII characters for the win) and of course by modern standards utterly rubbish.

No game you can play one hand and a mouse is every going to be 'hardcore'

You have my sincere appreciation for continuing the fight against inappropriate use of the word "literally."

My hat off to you, good sir (or madam), if I had a hat.
