Steamchart - doesnt look too healthy?! :/
" You might want to add some actually relevant links to that data including exilestats and the very ladder standings of the game we play as they show players online. I've seen an unremarkably samey amount of players day to day and with the precise update schedules outlined by GGG, we will always see an ebb and flow in the player base. Furthermore, as I've already stated, where's the relevancy? When/if this game dies, there will be no need for anyone to proclaim it dead. It would be self evident and until that day comes (never), this is all utterly pointless. |

" Well, three things. First, I'm not really too worried about updating the thread. I just use it for the links... I figured others might want them. That isn't to get a definitive measure of game health by any means. It's just nice tidbit information to help form a general idea of game health (web traffic being that part in this case). Second, what kind of data are you talking about? Third, I don't know how to acquire this data. If you can show me how to get this data, that would be nice. :p (I'm hoping it's a comparison of online active players now vs. in the past) Последняя редакция: DestroTheGod#5470. I don't care what people say, that is a pretty significant drop off.
I'm not one of those doomsayers. I will say this though, game has been very lackluster since release. So it doesn't surprise me this drop off is happening. This game will always have trouble maintaining the vast majority because of the gating and progression walls. I said this before release and throughout the open beta that this game will be a niche game at best when catering to an aging D2 crowd and those "old school gamers." There isn't enough hardcore gamers these days to really carry what PoE is trying to sell. If this was 2001-2002, this would be a whole different story. The gaming industry has changed significantly since those days. Game will remain a niche game. Последняя редакция: GolbezFF4#6569. Время: 8 янв. 2014 г., 02:18:48

The numbers stabilized at a solid level. The game definitely won't die anytime soon, but it will remain quite niche. Not sure why this is worth discussing three times a week.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Steamchart looks perfectly healthy.
A lot of people just play games for like 2 months after launch and jump to another game. Whether its a MMO or not. I think Steam users are even more likely to jump from game to game than others. /thread |

" This isn't 2001. Players aren't cycling between 2 games for a decade anymore. Once players leave, they most likely aren't coming back. There is too much competition, and just too many damn games right now. This game has been out for over a year, and there has been zero progress made with the desync, crafting shitfest demoralization, and worthless loot that has plagued this game. I had uninstalled PoE during beta, and re downloaded it when a few rl friends/family talked me into doing Nemesis with them. Now they've all left, and half the time I log on I just diddle with shit my stash, look at trade chat for a minute, and then log off. PoE end-game feels like a job, and most just gave up. Casuals enjoy the slow ladder climb, but the 24/7 mountain climbers are just bored with over-RNG and assy loots. Последняя редакция: nGio#1658. Время: 8 янв. 2014 г., 03:49:48

I DO hope you suffer a bit tbh, even though I still love you.
Maybe that will take you off your butt and make you do something about your personal flaws. The Hyperbomber for 2.6: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1879383

When despite all the complaints (argumented feedback, not just QQ), every patch looks like the same pile of candy stuff (moar uniques, moar mtx, moar gems), even the most faithfull players will get disgruntled.
* "Improved trading system" - I've been hearing about this for a year now. Its coming :) (meanwhile cant even filter chat spam BS) * Even after "release", I must play the game on all low settings, if I want semi-smooth FPS playing solo on a decent desktop comp. It feels like beta. * Totally unrewarding looting, unless you multibox or RMT. Endgame feels pointless, if you don't loot anything interesting. * crafting joke is nothing more than a currency sink * I wont even mention desync, because we know it will be a core part of the game forever. ------------- The only good thing since release, was 1.02 patch with improved access to endgame maps ------------- Nobody cares about casuals that couldn’t get past normal Brutus - they wouldnt bring money anyway. But when long time players say fk this shyt, I'm done... When night falls She cloaks the world In impenetrable darkness Последняя редакция: morbo#1824. Время: 8 янв. 2014 г., 03:54:37

PoE is just too hardcore. And yes, you can whine about games being trivialized like WoW but that's what the masses want: they want easy gameplay. PoE does not deliver on it, not in it being easy nor not being frustrating.

" People who (despite its flaws) like the game will always come back and check out what's new. Even though there are a lot of games out there, most of them are shit. And when it comes to ARPGs there is nothing better than PoE out there at the moment. I play Titan Quest every now and then (usually when PoE pisses me off for some reason) but that's not a real alternative since there are no updates for that game. Same goes for D2 I guess, I was never a huge fan of that game though. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
