Bandits and Griefing on Hardcore

If I'm a used car salesman, and I sell shoddy cars to people, which ultimately break down while in transit and cause someone to die, I'll be liable for the crash, and in most of today's court systems I would likely be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

This is a good analogy for what's happening here. We all agree that the quest text does state you "may" have to fight those who disagree with your choice, however, the bill of goods that was sold is that the social group was formed to Kill OAK, not pvp to the death. There was a gap between what actually happened and the expectation of what was going to happen, directly pointing to a flawed quest.

Is the unwitting person who buys the used car partially at fault? Absolutely. Should I have read the text and then potentially come to to the conclusion I should avoid the social system at all costs? Maybe. But that's really not the issue here, or the point. Bringing exposure to this issue, is bringing exposure to the shoddy car salesman, in hopes that something is done.

The point is that the developers should not introduce a completely new feature, without any lead up, which allows other players to trick newbies (ala new players to the game) into a HC death. If a feature can be exploited or abused to grief other players, it will happen, no matter what. This is the internet folks. Game developers need to have some foresight and patch these kind of holes up, or they will continue to get abused, creating a very negative environment.

Just saying: If you don't know how to play, why the hell are you playing in hardcore? Better yet, why are you whining about dying in hardcore after being blindsided by a new feature?

Good, I hope everybody realizes how much of a joke HC is in this game and the word spreads. I hope everybody dies in HC due to being griefed or disconnected.

I've read the entire thread. You're QQing because you got ganked in a PVP mission, despite there being ample warning that there was the possibility of that happening. Perhaps you should play Diablo 3 if you don't like PVP.
