when i first noticed that set of quests i said " ooh.. this is one i will not do with anyone else..."

I think people are getting away from the point of the first post. The OP specifically said that the party name was KILL OAK, and the party leaders intentionally did the opposite solely for griefing purposes. It has nothing to do about whether anyone reads quest text or not.

(I haven't played this quest yet, so I don't know the exact mechanic)
I think the important question here is if players can still choose to leave after everyone made their choice or not. If they can still leave afterwards there is no need to be upset. However, if people can't then the mechanic is indeed flawed as it's bound to either result in a deadlock (nobody wants to choose before everyone else does) or griefing as it is the perfect setup to troll PUGs. |

You can't leave. In fact, the the two players who killed the rest of the party waited until everyone had voted (as to not give away what they were doing), making it less apparent. Once all votes are in, the fight starts immediately.

It's not GGG's fault you deliberately chose to ignore text that warns you of this mechanic. Saying "oh I should have known is a stupid argument" is a stupid argument - you SHOULD have, it's explicitly said to you. Choosing to ignore a warning and going "rofl bad mechanics" is just childish and you should just harden up and try again.

I gotta say I'm with the OP on this one. There is no PK option in this game (at least not until cut-throat leagues open). As I understand it, PvP in act 2 does not permanently "kill" your character (haven't tried it yet though). Now all of a sudden this quest comes along where people can kill each other. Making matters worse, deciding for helping/killing first will make you vulnerable for attack, as your party members could be betraying you easily. That's why this quest totally promotes solo play. Playing public is discouraging as it is for ninja looters, but here it's just totally unfeasible.
One simple fix could be do build in a timer/delay so the fight would not start right when the last person clicks (potentially with the intention to kill the others). That way, you might have a pvp situation, but "PKing" others would not happen. The last player to click in a party has the advantage over the others and will only pick a fight if he feels confident enough to actually win. If players are driven to solo this quest, the whole mechanics of it will be irrelevant. I guess this is not what the devs had in mind. btw my first post on the forums \o/ |

" Well, hardly your fault then. I guess the easiest solution would probably be a ten second grace period after the vote to allow players to open a portal and get out.
