O'Fusing Orb Vendor Recipe ... where art thou?

6L vendors for 1 divine + 20 fusings. BAM problem solved.

Anyways, in case anyone missed the sarcasm there, I don't agree that this is a problem. Earning 1500 fusings to buy a 6L takes a while but is very doable.

Definitely don't agree this is a "game breaking" problem... basically zero builds require a 6L to be able to work, and so there's no reason to cheapen the progression system by making 6Ls easier to obtain.

6l optional idea is a tad missleading. Generally builds that don't need a 6l to do great DPs are prime targets for the Nerf bat.

Just something to consider. But I can think of around 20+ build types that fit this discription.

In the end it boils down to user opinion. A lot of the weaker build that have access to many damage support really do need a 6l. Where as those that don't have many damage gems don't care. Case in point rightiousfire. Imagine if they cut its damage in half but added a 50% more gem to it..

But if you want 6l get a tabby. It is more than possible to compensate for the lost stats

"You're doing it wrong then. I don't personally believe it's a good method to throw fusings at some item 1 stack at a time, you either have what it requires (overkill amount to mitigate potential bad luck) or you don't go for it."

I get what you're saying, here's my reasoning:

Farming for weeks straight with no progress what-so-ever is extremely tedious and will cause me to grow weary of the game and ultimately quit out of boredom/frustration, which I don't want to happen. I figure if I throw a stack at it every few days and happen to get lucky, then I can at least see some progress and lay off the fuse farming for a while and focus on something else. There is also the very high possibility that even saving up 500 will still fail. Basically, I'd rather mitigate my frustration. Point taken though.

Thanks for the reply
"Just so you know, your character is never considered to be above level 68 for the purposes of calculating diminishing returns on currency drops. In other words, zones with level 66 or higher never have diminished currency drops."

Good to know. I must just have really terrible luck then D: I saw a lot more currency drops as I was progressing up to act 3 merc. Now there are days where I won't see anything better than a trans orb drop.

Thanks for the info

If you get a 6L more quickly/easily, you'll just grow bored farming for months for your Shavs (or whatever else your next desired rare/valuable item is).

At some point in this game, you have to decide if you enjoy playing it or not, because the time between "rewards" grows exponentially large, and that's just the design of an ARPG.

"I made ~300-400 alts in 4 hours farming with iir + iiq (not obnoxious dom/piety runs), so what's that like in fusings, 40-50? Seems like quite on okay rate to me."

Well, firstly, what you're saying there is you are able to vendor roughly 400-500 rare items in an hour (4 shards/item (avg)-> 5 items -> 1 alt), give or take (yes, I understand some are straight alt drops). I don't know what you're farming but, at best, it takes me 15-20 minutes to clear a map (or the library if I'm out of maps), assuming I don't get wrecked by some unfortunate combination of rare monster mods, and I'll get maybe 20-25 rare items per map if I'm lucky. That's quite a gap. Even if I had 100% IIQ, it wouldn't even come close. And even if you can get that many items to drop, you'd run out of map portals trying to vendor it all. I assume you're not farming maps...?

So, I'm wary of the accuracy of your statement as it doesn't even come close to realistic based on my experience of the game.

But kudos to you if you can pull that off, you must have a beast of a character.

Indeed...if only I had better gear...

What this equates to is:

To progress, you need better gear. To get better gear, you need...better gear...

If no one else sees a problem with that equation, then I've come to the wrong place.

It's like me asking someone to get my ladder off of my roof and saying, "feel free to use my ladder."

Anyway, I originally made this thread because I wanted to see if anyone has seen or heard a dev address this as I know it's been brought up several times in the past. For anyone who hasn't been absurdly lucky, it's obvious that this aspect is out of balance with the rest of the crafting system given the time investment required to produce the end result. Yet, I would imagine the dev's put thought into it so, I just want to understand their thinking. To me, the fun of the game is seeing your character build progress and come to fruition. The design of this system essentially causes character progression to come to a screeching hault before the end of the game. To me, it's counter-intuitive and feels like a broken mechanic. Obviously, a great many others feel the same as I read thru hundreds of posts looking for a dev's input before I posted this.

I'm interested in what the devs have to say because if their response is: the system is working as intended and we don't want anyone but the people who spend 80 hours a week in game for months on end to experience the full potential of the game, then okay, I'll go find another game. But if the response is, "we haven't payed much attention to it or tried to tweak it in anyway because we feel other aspects of the game are more important" or something along those lines...then it seems worth keeping the topic alive. I mean, if hundreds of players' experience of the game ultimately results in boredom and frustration due to a couple variables that can be easily modified...as a dev, wouldn't you want to know that (assuming you want the people who pay you to keep doing so)?

This is the "feedback" forum, right? <_< >_> <_<

5L should vendor for a few fuse

I agree with this if you find a 5link and don't use it should be able to get a few fusings out of it.

You have indeed come to the wrong place. ARPGs are designed such that your wealth snowballs over time. The more you have, the more you can make (due to better gear etc), and PoE is a quintessential example of this.

It should be hard to get GG gear. If not, then everyone runs out of things to do very quickly. It seems to me that you don't understand that the more powerful you get in this game, the longer it takes you to find upgrades. Asking for your next upgrade to come to you more quickly is folly.
