i love new arctic armour as long as...
" Yea, that is GREAT. Will certainly implement AA in my new build in 2.0 |

Try standing in Void Bearer fire and then tell me percentage mitigation works better.
25% mana reservation. It will be a choice between this and a herald. Offense or defense. Won't really be any different than the current choice between Grace/Determination/Discipline or Haste/Hatred/Wrath/Anger. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

" Voidbearers do shit damage if they arent shotgunning you with increased projectiles (which wont work anymore, so its cool). Also, if you are a damn caster, why the hell would you sit inside a voidbearers incinerate? |

" Yeah, well, they were dangerous only because of shotgunning and that problem is no more, thank the great two-headed calf :) Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" This combination of stats was always possible. Doesn't make the new AA in itself any more desirable. Large physical hits are best avoided completely, usually by movement. New AA doesn't function while moving. It's a boring passive failsafe for when you fail to move. Even if it were strong, it's usable by anyone now which weakens the relative defensive position of spellcasters even further.
" They're just as dangerous when you're surrounded by 30 of them (strongboxes, soul conduit etc.). I never understood why the -fire damage part of AA was neccessary though. It caused many problems like making fire builds immune to reflect.
Wow, I didn't catch that it only mitigated damage while stationary. IMO that makes this skill a waste of 25% mana reserve. Even my melee builds are usually moving most of the time.

" I'm using it on my HC Phys/Crit Split arrow ranger. Arctic Armour + Hatred. I don't think the stationary part is that big of a deal, especially now with lockstep. Most of the time you get hit, will be while attacking/casting, in which case you are standing still. When moving you should be able to manually dodge most damage. Obviously there are exceptions to this like Cyclone. However, due to the stationary target rule, I do think that level 20 AA should be buffed to 15%/15% instead of the current 13%/12%. |
