Please remove useless real money effect restrictions

I say no.

Make people pay for it all, its cosmetic. If someone can't afford stuff they can still play perfectly well and shouldn't be putting money into gaming anyway.

Why can't I just activate an effect like a pet?
Why do I have to equip that and when I play multiple chars I need to unequip that and switch that around. This is totally useless, does not provide any security or has any advantage for anyone.

Same goes for skilleffects.
As example: I have a totem build. It uses the flame totem twice. One as a full DPS Totem and a second one with culling+iir+iiq. Now I really want that skill effect but I don't see any reason why I would not be allowed to put that effect on both of my totems. Why can't we get a trigger like CTRL+SHIFT+Right Click to open a menu to select available effects for it.
That stays active until you deselect the effect or move it out of your inventory.
No stressy popup when you are selling gear/gems "This can't be traded" because I put an effect on it and I can easily use my bought stuff on multiple items and characters.

Please remove those 1 item restrictions. They are annoying as hell.

Good post. This was brought up years ago when they first introduced MTX. Nothing has changed since then and I don't expect it to change now.. but you are 100% correct.
I cant totally understand that, in my opinion they should redesign the whole MTX thing.
With an "MTX interface" kinda like the inventory where you can assign MTX to specific ITEMSLOTS instead of items them self... also, if they would make it so an effect can only be active once per slot it would mean u still have to buy stuff twice if you want to use it twice on the same char!

It would also remove the hassle of the MTX stach...
The sole reason i haven't bought MTX's is due the fact that it is so troublesome to find where you left a MTX in a certain char, that i just am against of supporting such practices . . .

Why the hell the can't implement a "global reclaim" button or make effects global, so you can always apply to new chars, is beyond me. It is just cheap business tactics and i aint supporting such . . .

If all effects stayed in your mtx inventory, and could just be painted onto items, then you'd never lose an mtx.

I think the idea is to make skill effects work more like pets, in that you don't have to find the character with the pet and reclaim it. Sounds like a pretty legit request.
With that I agree.

The only other MMO I've played is Guild Wars 2, and I love their wardrobe system.

All the skins and cosmetics you find or buy in the game are unlocked account wide, you then use a currency called Transmutation charges to apply said skins for your characters.

You can either buy them, or gain them playing the game, albeit in a slower way than buying.


I'm sure GGG could implement something similar. Maybe drop the currency system and just have effects be applied as an unlock account wide?

(though with that said, I would love to see a better shop window)

The only reason I don't buy mtx effects is because of how cumbersome it is to manage them ... I'd rather have fun playing the game then swaping around effects every time I switch my gear. It is a PITA to manage mtx in this game. For example ... in League of Legends I have all champions and at least a skin for each, in POE I don't buy skins because the mtx system is really ... really really bad. It's not about the money ... its about me not wanting to manage this, and waste valuable playing time. I already waste plenty of time managing stashes.
I had similar "feedback" when i noticed that i can't apply 1H sword MTX twice while dual wielding. For the shining weapon effects, the new ones automatically clone themselfs while dual wielding to both weapons, so i thought skin effect will do the same - WRONG!

Well, i plan to buy second skin when they hit the discount.

Anyway. Swapping MTX is OK, but the multiple usage for sigle character is something i understand and I also would appreciate the change to use unlimited use of MTX in the stash. I remember before Procurement when i was trying to find my Vaal Discipline in stash after leagues merged. going through 40 tabs, gem by gem, item by item. No fun :D

It would be "nice to have" change.

3.13 was the golden age.
I feel like they should give the community what they want, regardless if it makes the lose income or not.
I mean, they are making a game for the purpose of making a game, right? This is a major difference between GGG and other companies. GGG actually cares about the community, they listen, they change things if we aren't happy about them. It's not even hard to get responses from GGG in threads like these.
Take Blizzard on the other hand, it is very rare that they make a "blue post" in pretty much any thread.

So yes, to the point. I think that every MTX should have infinite uses. For example, I want to be able to use my infernal weapon effect on my ground slam marauder at the same time I am using my infernal weapon effect on my discharge templar.
