Holey fug. D: Forgot about this one. Not to mention that you can get "unique" to weapon passives (like poisons, bleedings and other stuff). Multiple at once o__o. Think low-ish damage on it won't be stopping it from being good. But we'll have to find out in practice, as we don't know changes to the tree yet (this node, for example, could be gone).

your both correct but it's not designed to be top tier. It's designed with the intent to make the player path and look at the passive tree in new and unique/interesting ways and handsomely succeeds in that field.

Nobody needs top tier stuff to complete the content or make viable builds in this game. You can one-shot stuff just fine with a mid-tier base if that's your thing.

This weapon will be fun with melee based skills that have secondary effects are require "weapon specific" scaling.(spectral throw, molten strike, wild strike come to mind etc)

That is the node Qarl named directly, yes.

This isn't a 'noob trap' weapon, but it might not compete with your top tier rares. No unique should. SHOULD.



Thats why 90% of uniques in this game are vendor food. Seriously I have never before played a game with so many useless "unique" items like PoE.

Fun fact - most of the good uniques are well rolled rares with one unique mechanic

I usually go 2h melee but I dunno, maybe try soultaker/this new sword cyclone or cleave as a champion duelist to pickup free fortify.

Man, you sure missed out. Diablo 1 was great. So was Diablo 2. And Titan Quest.

And don't even pretend that they didn't all have a bunch of 'crap' uniques, because they surely did and you've either blocked that out or...you really haven't played an ARPG before PoE. Which is possible.

The problem with PoE isn't the 'crap uniques'. It's the fact that GGG never once thought that maybe limiting drops by upper level as well as lower might have been a good idea. If only level appropriate uniques dropped, *no one* would bitch about the 'crap uniques' in this game.

And if in D2 all you did was get Blood Crescents, Blinkbat Forms and Rixot's Keens from Hell Baal, you'd bitch about the shit uniques in that game too. Go no, click that link and see how many of THOSE you even remember, let alone used.





I have not played diablo. You have a point, but PoE shouldnt follow this way just because original arpgs were like that. Era of Diablo 2 ended long time ago, time to abandon crappy designs from that game and move on
I spent only 25 chaos on this by the way.
