So Ive followed your guide from leveling (currently lvl 70 and just started T1-T2's). About CwC + SR, how does it work? From my understanding you cast Icestorm "manually", but people say this version should be more mana friendly. Casting it manually doesn't it become the same thing as earlier?

Have I understood it correct if I believe that the link does not override eachother in WI? For instance, if I have a 6L SR my Icestorm still uses these 6 gems as well?

Nice to know.. starting to buy gear and stuff, would be nice to know so I dont buy the wrong links etc.

Also thanks for an awesome guide. My third character I map with, and this is the most fun Ive had thus far (cyclone in Talisman, Voltaxic Rift LA/BR in Perandus earlier).

the cwc gem proc the Icestorm in every 0,35 sec, if i know correct.
You cast manually the SR spells and keep channeling and meanwhile it cast Icestorm for the SR's cost:) Much lower mana.. Classic IS cost more than 100 mana..the SR only cca 30-40 or less, that is te trick:) Any you need only 3 or 4 link, the fire pen and LL useless with SR, but mandatory with IS:) The suppor gems has a mana multiplier...more linked support gem, more overall spell costs:)

Thanks for the nice answer! And even if I link all gems without fire pen and LL, those linked gems also benefits Icestorm?

My goal with this character is to finally make T15 (or even T16 as they have been released since I played last) and cool stuffs like Shaper, Chayula and so on. Is Elementalist the optimal way for this? Seeing as this guide is posted in Marauder etc. forums as well. Or rather, it wouldnt be any major issues? Without having to upgrade too much from this:



(Except obviously gloves, boots, belt as Im saving for replacements there).

so yes, it is technically clearly the superior way of leveling, but it's not for me - and now that I've tested it myself, I'm more confident than ever that selfcast is the superior endgame option on elementalist and inquisitor.

It takes maybe 1 day to get used to pressing down the key for 0.35 sec instead of tapping it. Not to mention that tapping isn't 100% reliable anyway, to make sure that Icestorm is cast you need to press it down for a short time.

its not a question of getting used to it - its a question of me disliking that playstyle. I've loved incinerate when it was hot in mid-2015, I also enjoy blade flurry. and I immensely enjoy selfcast WI. pressing down a button till the screen is cleared and I can move on - sure. tapping the mouse button - sure. pressing down for 0.35s and the releasing, all the time - nope, not for me. maybe my personal taste is strange... ;-)

What's tooltip icestorm are you guys getting it at? I'm only at like 5.4k (on the high end of the 4 seconds) and if I got a int belt, I'd probably be at 5.7k. Is that a bit low? I hear people saying they're at 10k tooltip, but I can't imagine how it'd go that high. I'm running cwc now.

Could OP/ or anyone take a look at my gear/passives and tell me what I can improve on them?


Do note that I can't afford an Astramentis yet, which is why I have the ammy that I am using now. Not using Fertile Mind around the area the guide said to, just because I'm lacking DEX for some of my gems. Any help is appreciated! Thx!

That wasn't covered in guide (unless I missed it somehow), but after running maps with other players, I found out that this build considered 'lag build'. I quite like this build in solo play, but in party play I'd like to have alternative to Icestorm. I tried most obvious cold spells available, but without Icestorm its a struggle to even run Dried Lake (trash is ok, but on Voll its pretty obvious that Icestorm x10 stronger).

I'm at 10.5k self buffed (golems out in h/o + at the high point of the 4s)

As for how to get that much - very easy answer: MOAR INT ;)
Mind you I am level 95, and every level helps this build a lot.

edit: also, jewels are important, get 40%+ dmg mods on each of them, and last but not least, 20/20 or higher gems.

How often do you guys use Leap slam + Fortify while using CwC + SR? Is it still the best combo to use as the 3L currently listed in boots?

How u get so much dmg? I'm onn 5200+ tooltip with golems up, 6k (at the end of 4s), 1466 int.
I can get maybe ~75 int after changing my belt. How much int do you have?
