HC? You're not up to date. They've stopped supporting HC in their development.

after watching the first video, now watched another one.

changing thread title.

1st video - a guy with... 15k-ish ES got one-shot. by laser.
2nd video - a guy with a safer build (Ancestral) though a lot less life, gets repeatedly taken out by the teleport. also a one-shot. and a lot quicker than Malachai's version, too. the laser seems actually fair in comparison.

is this really a fair fight?

I think GGG overdid it.

For melee? Fuck no hahahah

They added this level of difficulty for the .05% of the players who will beat what ever content they produce. The rest of us should ignore it.

recent video is Ancestral Warchief. a Totems build.
these type of builds are usually very safe. I know because I beat Izaro with one. undergeared, underleveled, terrible DPS, in HC.
so Totem builds are great.
and he has good DPS too. makes quick work of the entry bosses.

the teleport is just stupid, really. Malachai at least has some delay and warning when he does that. Shaper is just 10ms and boom you are dead.

the rest of his attacks are semi bullet hell, and the laser is actually the most fair of the lot, while still being a one shot to .... anyone in Wraeclast really.

I've long suspected that the bosses in this game are designed to be "really, really cool." In that 12-year-old mentality of sheer power = coolness. This is game design by an egomaniac who wants you to be super impressed. This is the level of shit that results in unfair rom hacks that serve only to give the creator a self-congratulatory stiffy and satiate the masochistic streak of a few lunatics.

This game is not and never was designed for anyone but Chris Wilson.

it is for the 1% yes... but I think GGG still overdid it.
hard bosses are one thing.
an entire fight filled to the brim with one-shot mechanics is quite another.
and put some zero-telegraph on top some of them... that's the icing on the RIP cake.

Can someone do the boss with 1 life 1 es? If yes, then its a well designed skillful boss like atziri and her uber version.

If you need a stupid amount of life/es buffer and face leech then NO.

It'll stay op until someone finds a way to cheese it deathless. Then, after much epeens are had, the cheese will be nerfed, Shaper will be nerfed (or we get another power creep boost, or both) and the rest of the playerbase will be able to attempt the new content.
