That feel when the Chaos Recipe becomes a waste of time

I do unid chaos recipe picking up gear off bosses during mapping, then I will run Apex of Sacrifice a few times to pick up gear below ilvl 75 to get Chaos instead of Regals and I also happen to get a Mortal hope or ignorance once in a while as well.

I bought a quad tab and dedicated it to chaos recipe so I don't turn them in until I have enough gear for 12 complete recipe sets (24 chaos). It doesn't actually take that long once you get into the swing of it.

If I'm running t15+ maps I will ID ES gear and jewelry that is ilvl 84 or higher because I'd hate to use something in Chaos recipe that I could have sold. But everything ilvl 83 or below I use for unid Chaos recipe.

Probably been mentioned (didn't read entire thread) but the chaos and regal recipes are useful for Solo Self Found - moreso regal orbs because of the need to master craft rares with the 3 stats you need. Regals drop so rarely that you're really trying to get to 75+ maps as quickly as you can.

Chaos orbs in SSF great for chaos spamming your high ilvl gear at end-game because well.. what else are you going to do with them?

Depends on your playstyle. If your running the absolute top clear speed/twitch based builds like 90% are (or trying to) then yeah, recipe will be a waste of time most likely.

If you dont like getting exhausted after 30 mins of intense play you can take a few minutes to chill while vendoring stuff for chaos recipe.

People really exaggerate how much time it takes and the amount of stuff you need to pick up. You'll get a full jewellery set for recipe every 2-3 maps, and between ilvl 60 and running maps proper, your not going to pick up a rare worth 1+ex because the stats arent there and players dont have the currency.

Trying to flip items for 1 alch at the start of a league, now that's a waste of time.

I run a single tab for the recipe since 4 full gear sets fit. 3 for regular 2c recipe, 1 for superior unid rares i pick up. when i start getting into mid tier maps, i stop using the recipe. It's really just there to get some currency for your first few build defining items.

The other big thing people don't really mention when dismissing the chaos recipe is you need a HUGE amount of market and build/play experience to know what items are actually worth something. Often things that seem like they should be worth something are only worth an alch, or things that don't appear valuable might be worth several Ex.

I still have no idea if a quiver is ever worth anything to a ranged build, or if they are all autosell. theres a lot of rare items in the same category as being 100% useless regardless of stats, because there is a BiS unique item. Unless you've played all build types, you have no real way of gauging this without spending dozens of hours learning the market which is still very hit or miss.

I just do unidentified 2c recipe. Fill up a stash tab with rings and amulets then just do one/two recipes after every map boss when the tab gets full. This way I'm not doing it all the time. Just collect until I feel like it's time to do it. It's still free/guaranteed currency.

Unidentified recipe just seems crazy to me, given the value of items potentially being vendored without you even knowing it. Obviously, yes, chaos recipe provides a constant, small flow of income, but what about the 10 ex amulet that you never even know you had, that you vendor for 2c?

Let's be honest. You won't get 10 Ex Amu. Probably even 1 Ex Amu.

I only pick up best base 75+ not because I care about regal recipe at all but I have dropped items in the 15-80ex range there. Sure maybe only 1 per ladder but worth it IMO. Plus it's my RNG fix. I don't play RNG like most of u I buy ALL 6 links, usually with right colors too. I buy all my gear. SO this is my foray into RNG. Finds of best bases is my "gambling" - only costs 1 wisdom scroll and couple seconds.

This will all change when I play SFL OFC. I may have to re visit recipe page at wiki

That ring is worth at least 13ex. Can craft 20% ES and has ES, DPS and like 120 resits. TBH i'd put it at 20ex

I know you can. It's still scam.

Maybe it's just me who don't understand people who would pay extra 10-20 Exalted orbs just for flat ES roll on a ring (same ring but without Flat ES would cost like 20c-3Ex). Even with 300% incr ES, it's just puny 160+ flat ES for your 15000-20000 ES Pool.
