Everything is about maps drop now?

The sad thing is actually what MAPS become true currency already. Every fresh discussion about them, and every league, every content, and every Zana mod changes looked up from the maps gains perspective. Even trading talks almost about how maps (!!) trading is inconvenient. And Temple rooms goods or no, about maps too, rest rewards from temple actually become mostly irrelevant already (may be gems corruptions only, but there are so much risk about them).

Seems like
Maps become the most important thing for now.
Do you really think this is ok?

Personally, I`m finding this as annoying already.
And all this:

1. Launching map if you have less then summary 100% IIQ on it, is already pointless and NOgo. Just because you will have no sustainable returns with <100% iiq map.
2. Using fragments are better to maps to boost IIQ, not for atziri runs.
3. Run only influenced maps, rest are waste, just because of low density.

And so on..

For yellows and whites maps this is not so harsh, but seriously, who runs them? Only windripper`s T8 Shaped Burial Chambers farmers ..for Doctor card only. Thats it.

Anyway, you got an idea.
I just pointing this an unbalance and suggesting whats maps system need to be overhauled and become better. May be someone from GGG will see this as a whole picture after some highlightes I made here. Or may be someone can add somth to in comments.

Thanks for reading.

it has always been. thats nothing new and the core of the game.
i dont know whats "sad" about that.
Farfan summarized my thoughts exactly.

Also:

Who runs whites and yellows? What kind of elitist question is that? Um, every regular player? SSF people trying to sustain maps? People leveling to 90? Even people leveling to 100 often?

But, sure, you just keep on with the hyperbole that it is only shaped map windripper builds running yellow maps. Good job, exile.
Maps are a currency just like the rest, nothing wrong with that.

As for the drivel about needing >100IIQ & influence & frags etc, just NO.
Been said hundreds of times already, map drops are fine without any of 'that'

To sustain higher tiers , you should be using sextants and vaals and influence.
I would say that the higher tiers are still not dropping enough though , as you get strings of bad luck where nothing is dropping.

The simply way to fix map sustain would be to add back in harbinger orbs and horizon orbs as a common drop like chaos for horizon , and like a vaal rarity for harb orbs.
Then everyone could have access to end game maps without having to pray that the map connected is dropped instead of something far lower tier.

Sick of reading this honestly. Drop rates are fine and easily sustainable with nothing more than alc + vaal. Constantly keeping track of sets I run and have yet to come out with fewer reds than I put in.

As always, if you aren't getting them then it's your own fault, you are missing mobs, not picking them up etc. You can argue all you like but every time someone posts actual data it confirms this.

I'm now wat 51 in, 79 out for reds

3 more maps until 4th temple.
41 maps (+3 Zana missions) run so far. Only Alc + Vaal
Each set is (10 x T11-13, 1 x T15)

Map drops so far.
Actually had 2 more red maps than white/yellow so far... go figure.
Thats 65 red maps from 41, more than a 50% increase.
Funny. Most people who say maps are fine and you don't know how to sustain usually never explain how they do it. Congratulations, you got 30-100+ red maps in stash without trading. Good for you. How does that help the people complaining that they can't sustain, and are instead spending more maps than they get back?

Maybe if people explained how to "git gud" rather than just telling them to, there might be less people coming onto the forum suggesting GGG make map sustain less of a pain in the ass.

Food for thought.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

I'm happy to explain, the original posts were obviously a bit more detailed, that was just 1 random quote.

Tho it contains all of the relevant information.
Alc + Vaal... and run it... what else is there to it? I do absolutely nothing else.
I'm assuming you didn't even read what is written in the quote.

People keep making out like there is all this complex mathematical stuff you need to consider when in reality it is ridiculously simple. throw on some alc's, vaal them, and enjoy the game.

Maybe because there isn't any surefire formula and it's all just Quantity*RNG?

(Not to discount the power of confirmation bias.)

I was able to sustain red maps by chisel + alch. I didn't even bother to vaal or chaos good mods, though I did occasionally buy invasion for 2 chaos for +20% IIQ. Really though, it's easy. My strategy is two things and it works every league:

1) don't throw any map away, I keep all maps and upconvert them via 3 to 1 vendor recipe
2) get some serious atlas completion, it's easy to get over 100% for the map drop level bonus

This league it's even easier because of maps you get from the temple. Try to upgrade the map room and warehouse whenever you can for bonus maps.
