Yah, may be. I wasnt afraid tho, I wasted thousands of fuses I had before I come to this decision just from practice. And I`m not afraid now too, I just know now better the opportunity costs. As it:

Just 1k fusings usually can be sold for 6-7ex. Its already

0. 6s already (profit! from not wasting jewellers)
1. 6L
2. wanted item cost included like good rolled belly (profit more!)
3. usually needed colors of sockets can be cherry picked from market (profit from not wasting chromes!)
4. no risk
5. no need to hurt my hand with pointless and actually boring 1000 (I still not believe it can be done in 1k, but anyway) single clicks

And this can be even cheaper if to use live search to get 6L from market hot. Just need more patience, thats it.

Bah, don't get me started on 6L. I "threw the damn towel" some time ago, as I spent >5K fusings trying to link various items, and fortunately was too tempted by a "playing the market" opportunity so I put my 6L achievement goal on hold for the moment...

I might try and 6L by hand again when I amass 3-5K fus again, but for now, I'm better off with buying those "inexpensive" 6L...

Can you explain why avarage 6l is 1k?

Everyone uses their own approximation to what that average really is. I use 1200. It's not "right" either but it works out fine for me. Some people use "1000". I've even seen some people using "800" but that's going to mislead people... it's not 800. Some go as high as 1500, and they're way off too... but that's the point where it becomes rational to start using Vorici.

We don't know the actual number. There's been some statistics done on reddit that has narrowed the range of possible values down pretty close to my 1200... but none of it really matters. You couldn't tell the difference between having an average of 1000 or 1200 in the course of a year's worth of fusings.

Got my first and potentially last 6-l this league on the first and potentially last Belly that ever dropped for me. Nearly 1k socketjews and approx 400 linkjews, so I got "lucky" linking it...but I need to off-color it 4B-2G for my build so I'm dying inside whenever I get 4B-1G-1R.

Last season it took me maybe 1.1k links to get a 5 on a 5 socket Impulsa, so...

I managed to 6L a Soul Mantle after 11 fuses this league (first one ever), got another 6L Soul Mantle 114 fuses a day later (was going to sell the first one and get dual Shimmerons then use a 5L with my leftover fuses).

Then of course, I got drunk one night last week and lost my 6L to the Corruption Alter, which I shouldn't have done because I don't have much time to play anymore and didn't have a backup.

I'd been trying to 6L another Soul Mantle for a few weeks, probably 400-500 fuses over that period, and my idiotic drunk self spent all of my remaining currency (4 exalts and a few hundred chaos) on fuses that night trying to 6L it rather than just buying another one. Ended up broke.

Ended up giving up on that character, selling all of his gear and starting a different character. This time, I bought a 6L Inpulsas rather than spending the fuses.

I guess the moral of the story is, don't play drunk and don't get greedy.

It's almost as hard to 5l a 5socket as it is to 6l a 6socket which is why the inpulsas took so long, not because youre unlucky. There is no reason whatsoever in any imaginable circumstances to go for more than 4 links on a 5 socket item instead of just 6 socketing it first.

I haven't ever manually 6 linked one. Tbh I haven't used Vorici either (though I was thinking of doing it for a chestpiece I currently have). The risk just isn't worth it.

It's all good and fine that the expected amount of fusings is lower for doing it yourself, but an expectation value is meaningless if you only link 1 or 2 pieces per league. It's pure luck. Some people link it on the first fuse (saw that on a stream recently), others take 4k+ and still don't have a 6L. I'd gladly pay 1500 to Vorici to remove the (significant!) risk that I'll be spending thousands. But the market is nearly always the best option, Vorici is only for if you have an item with such good rolls that you can't find a 6L on the market that doesn't drop your stats.

Or use Fated connections. Its not can be bought for like 8.6ex
Its about 650c in incursion which is even less than vorici1500 with 650c=1300fuses.
