6-linking is not worth it?

Watched a Youtube video a couple days ago about someone doing lots of 6-linking.

They got the 6 link for 7 items with a total of 1000 fuse. And another 2 items took a total of 10,000 fuse between them.

So ya, random.

I 6L 2-4 items every league and I rarely spend any chaos buying fuses. I don't keep track of how many fuses each 6L takes me so I am not sure exactly how many fuses per 6L that comes out to but it's not even close to 1000.

Certainly the possibility exists that I am consistently lucky, but every league that seems more and more unlikely. The real cost of 6-linking an item is much lower than 704.4c

No. There is not "reason" to use Vorici. Only superstition. It's been shown that it's expected cheaper to do it manually.

you can only link corrupted staff with level 8 vorici. read again.

That seems to be the way it goes. In incursion league I linked a Belly in 900, 2nd Belly in 400, QotF in 500, Windripper in 800, 2nd QotF in 300, Inpulsa's in 3, then spent 3000 fuses and never got a 6L on a 2nd Inpulsa's (yes I know I could have bought multiple on the market had I converted the fuse to ex, I was stuck in gambler's fallacy though) which I eventually just gave back to my friend.

People do make them and sell them, you get horror stories of people who've spent 6000 fuses on linking an item and I mean i had a 1000 + jewelers to 6 socket a cloak of defiance this league but a vast majority of my 6 links cost under 500 fuses its just about rolling the dice in the hope of profit.

And that is the way we make profit for anything in PoE, Shaper farming = dice roll, elder, dice roll, burial chambers, dice roll etc If your lucky you get rich if your a pleb you make nada.

Sure they do. But on the average they're wasting their time and come out basically even for it. It's not rocket science. If there was a clear profit in doing so, everyone would be doing it. There's not.

What you're experiencing is called "survivor bias". You don't see the ones who didn't sell their item because they failed. You only see the ones who succeeded and therefor think that success is more common than it actually is.

I've sunk over 2300 fusings into a single Queen of the Forest that still sits in Standard waiting to be linked. Even when I dropped near 1500, I hoped it would take less than 1500. There was a thread of someone who dumped over 6000 into their item.

Statistically speaking, while some might manage to link for profit, the reality is that if it was that reliable we'd 6 link on our own instead of trading for 6 links.

I got lucky tonight. First time ive tried 6 linking an item just using fuses and not the recipe at the craft table. Exactly 30 fuses and 6 link.

Usually a 6 Link of popular Items (like Inpulsas, Belly, Windripper yada yada) sells for the price of 1500 Fusing Orbs (converted into Exalts). In previous Leagues that price was allways between 9 and 12 Ex. If we take the current Ratios a 6 Linked item should cost 9,92 Exalts. So right now with a price range of 4-7 Exalts for Popular 6 Linked items it was never cheaper to get your 6L if you want to avoid loosing all your currency to bad RNG :P
