Tired of being Broke ! ! !

I have not played as long, i started just before Beastiary, the last league and struggle to earn enough to get the gear i need for my build by 1/2 way thru the league let alone do a 2nd build. i have found 2 ex so far but every single unique i have found is worth nothing, the best item was worth 1 Chaos. How the heck do you earn the EX to buy this gear thats 10 ex per item ? i see these builds that say they are cheap to minimum cost and 2 of the items are 7 - 10 ex each...How do you guys make so much EX to buy this gear ?

Perfect gear is expensive. there are generally alternatives listed in build guides that are just fine, slightly worse than the 10ex stuff, that you can get for 10-15 chaos.

which builds are you looking at?

You can always pick trash from a floor and turn into chaos orbs with chaos recipe. Few hours of tedious work and you are done.

This isn't a skill based game. It's a time investment game. If you have no life or even better no life and unemployed you'll be able to pwn this game.

Just run maps and pick stuff up. Do it as fast as you can for hundreds of hours.

Not sure you need multiple ex gear though. Just play the meta skills that got super buffed and you can pwn all content with just like 5c in each slot. EZPZ.

There's part of your problem. Players don't get rich selling uniques, they get rich trading currency or selling rares with desirable mods, or high level crafting items such as Shaper Marble amulet bases.

The real issue though is that the average player simply cannot accumulate ridiculous wealth by just playing the game. I've probably found less than 40 Ex in my entire time playing PoE. Last league I didn't find a single one, this league I've found 3.

So if you're going to sell stuff that's worth 10 Ex a pop, a bunch of other povo players like myself are basically going to farm to support your more efficient playing style. PoE is a simile for the current capitalistic world where those that are ruthless, hyper-efficient or inordinately lucky will accumulate disproportionately more power and influence than the majority of the population, who are kept content with the dangled carrot of an ever increasing out of reach upward mobility.

It's a fucking awful system but we're stuck with it.

Do a more economical build first is your best bet if your struggling.Arc is pretty effective this league as it works well in the Incursions.I used on a build not meant for it and it was still pretty effective.

Either push t16 maps and farm those, selling all your other maps for currency--this method is pretty hard.
or
Target a divination card like the doctor or pride before the fall or the undaunted or three voices, get as much MF as you can, and spam those maps
Both of these methods require a little knowledge about the game (mainly setting up your atlas and how to invest or not invest in maps)

Being rich is boring, but if you want to do it, join a crew that works together towards that goal. Most of the really rich players you see are actually just the bank holders for teams of players.
