they're not pigeonholding anything. as in you can only play this build if going this ascendancy, and/or you can only go this ascendancy if playing this build.

buuuuuut it is so strong that you'd basically be gimping yourself to be doing either without the other. its quite ridiculous

its the same thing with pathfinder, really. go look at that herald of agony support gem at 20/20 and tell me someone will go pathfinder without using that, or use that without going pathfinder. cmon now. these two things are straight up bustified

this is, frankly, a pointless statement. you 'can' play any build even without ascending.

but when comparing full strength/potential of a certain style and build, if there is a class/subclass that does it much better and efficient than any other choice, then yes- it's what pigeonholing is. a narrow grouping that only fits certain things.

one of the main draws of the 'old' poe that it was against such pigeonholing and difference between, say, a witch summoner and a templar summoner was far less pronounced to the point where it was a real choice (sure, the extent of choice was choice between nodes and travel, but still)

the new poe tries to specialize way too much. there is so much potential lost in re-working old skills and introducing new ones, if they are to be confined to mostly one subclass and maybe one or two super niche uses. all imo of course.

I could be way off but it doesn't seem like it'd be too hard with quill rain, ice shot and chain. And density of course.

Nah, it's just a really nice bonus.

Herald of purity says "minions deal X% more damage". Is that just for the sentinels or all minions?

I initially did stop watching before i got to that point, so thanks for this.

And consecrated path looks sweet, that's longer than i thought the teleport would be. I've always wanted to do unarmed flicker, this looks like a solid replacement, and with natural AoE even.

1 ball lightning cast can give you the full 40 stacks so i don't see an issue really.

Though i won't be scaling the agony herald only or using ball lightning shenanigans, but really the 40 stacks are a non issue if you wan't to build around that.
