BTW, should we be concerned about possibly losing our stun immunity? The old version of cyclone gave us that.

Looks like we still got that.

For anyone asking for a 3.7 Rework please read the last couple of pages of comments, there has been plenty of discussion and information how this will play and change in 3.7 already.

getting all that accuracy is not gonna be easy with so many slots taken by uniques.

They are adding a new Accuracy Aura gem in this league, may be worth checking it...

I tried for a while to make it work, there is definitly no easy way to make this work right now.

The Aura we are getting is https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Precision_(Skill)
which at level 22 gives 1100 Accuracy and 85% Crit.

Now those values will most likely be lower since we will not get a level 22 version.
It will be an amazing choice for the mid tier of this build when you can't afford a Lycosidae yet or lack crit to get started but for end-game no matter what i tried you can't get that much Accuracy to really make it worth without Sacrificing a lot of Damage in the process.

We have 2 good choices in the Tree right now for some extra Accuracy:

NOTE: This one will also give attack speed

With that i am currently sitting at ~1450 Accuracy on my version of this build, with the aura we might hit ~2300 so that would put us to around 88% hit chance.

In my dps calculation having another cospris would equal out to about 250k Shaper DPS (which may not be accurate at all, i just roughly estimated).
If anyone has a better number on that let me know.

So all in all we have to free up to 7 skill points, drop Blasphemy, find gear that has life, res and accuracy for the few slots we have (at least 500-600 points) and must have the belt with 14% cooldown since the accuracy nodes come with attack speed.

I have 94% hit chance with those nodes + tempered mind + precision aura

No accuracy on gear

The accuracy changes could see this higher since GGG apparently reworked the formula?

Anyone planning on using one or two Frozen Trail jewels for extra damage on your frost bolt? POB seems to give very little damage boost to having one or two of those jewels in your tree. I know a buddy of mine loves using two of them.
Yes,me, and I would love to have one Unnatural Instict next to Harrier Jewel Socket ;) and 2 Might of the Meeks to complete the puzzle.
So assuming the new Attack Speed math for Cyclone is worked out by smarter players than I, this is untouched and could be played as is? Sweet.

From passives it looks untouched, other than getting less Energy Shield in the nodes below Coldhearted Calculation (in exchange for more evasion, tiny bit of life, and needing 1 extra passive point). I'm looking forward to see if you all are able to work out the Accuracy version.

With the Storm Brand nerf, does it make more sense to just stick with Freezing Pulse for leveling until you can Cyclone?

Really up to personal preference for the most part. I can't stand Freezing Pulse or Storm Brand anymore.

In Flashback i used frost blades first and then straight up used Blade Vortex with lightning spire traps. Now that will be even better with Cyclone-CwC-Blade vortex until somewhere around 50 before switching.

Would this be a good league starter? My goal this league is to take down shaper and elder. I’ve only taken down shaper once so far. Cheesing with immortal golems. Usually I make about 10 ex in a league to spend on gear.
Just out of curiosity, the guide will be updated? With so many suggestions or comments I lost myself. Ty!

After reading many pages I found one levelling interesting combo posted by one guy on page 3:

"
Anyway I am leveling this from zero with no gear and it is a breeeeeze.
I´ve played tons of different WinterOrb builds before and leveling with Freezing Pulse from 1-8 and then with ARC 8-28 and then switching to Winter Orb.. at 38 Winter Orb CwC Ice Spear 4 link and everything dies in a few seconds, including the thoughest of bosses, atm in ACT VIII. Also no deaths.
So just for league start this is a great way to get you to maps and then switch when you are comfortable!

I also feel this might actually be a better for Winter Orb CwC Ice Spear as Assassin.. tree is very similar to my Elementalist version.. like almost exactly the same.

So I am already liking how versatile this build can be if you don´t have the gear straight away you can still do amazing damage to everything.

Some info on what links I did:

1-8 Freezing Pulse-Added Lightning-Added Cold
8-28 ARC-Added Lightning-Controlled Destruction-Elemental Profileration (Really only need 3link with +1 wand until 28-33 or so when you get WinterOrb from SIOSA or buy it from a player at 28 as it´s a quest reward originally from Marmoa for killing Gravicius).
28-38 WinterOrb-Lesser Multiple Projectiles-Added Cold Damage-Controlled Destruction
38-Switch LesserMultipleProjectiles to GreaterMultipleProjectiles
38-Maps (or from ACT VI) WinterOrb-IceSpear-CastWhileChanneling-GreaterMultipleProjectiles

Other then that.. Arctic Armour, Herald of Ice with Onslaught or Curse on Hit with Enfeeble or Blasphemy Enfeeble like original poster said and maybe Herald of Thunder aswell.
Also using Shield Charge with Fortify atm :) for extra zoomzoom alongside FlameDash plus nice phys reduction from Fortify

(My answer is with the caveat that Cyclone maths is worked out)

Short answer: It's okay as a league starter, but you need to have some experience in basic currency making strategies as some of the build enabling uniques are a bit expensive. However, there is very little (almost 0) crafting needed, for people that don't like/know how to craft.

Long answer: It's great as a league starter as there is a detailed leveling guide which gets you to maps, and also tells you when to transition to Cyclone CoC (sure, some skills may be nerfed, but I'm sure one can just struggle through with it until the switch). I played it last season in my 2nd ever PoE league as a starter (although I did fiddle around with it in Betrayal league) and got to level 97 and past Uber Elder with no crafting.

The main unique that is truly necessary for it to "work" is Lycosidae for the "Hits Can't Be Evaded" mod, which is a tad expensive. This can be replaced by Ornament of the East (this isn't mentioned in the guide) which you can get as early as level 46, and should be quite cheap, which is what I did last season, although I only transitioned to Cyclone when I got to maps.

When you get to maps will have to start farming for currency for other uniques as you progress. This is where knowledge and knowhow of currency generating strategies will be required to get the rest of the gear, otherwise you may find yourself stuck.

There is also a slight change to the skill tree from 3.5 to 3.6 somewhere north east close to the starting point that may require an extra skill node to get, but essentially, just compare the old skill tree to the new one and attempt to 'connect' it as best possible. Everything else seems much the same. Aim for "Stage 1: The Core" under Order of Gearing and Explanation and you're good to go.
