This is an interesting question, you won't use the same tree, no.

Same tree. And you need ZO for any es build, leech or not. 1 single point transforms all life regen into es.
As an occultist i would not go es leech route i believe

The build will work fine. I look at hundreds of build every league, and that guy has been talking mad shit for like 2-3 leagues now! LOL> sorry for nothing to him. Even if its not perfect it gets ironed out fast, and Angry doesn't ditch his builds like some peoples.

Can you expand on why you wouldnt go ES leech as an Occ? Also do you think you can edit the tree/PoB to match Blight CWC Soulrend? I've came to a few build pages, but I can't get the dmg to satisfactory.

Also with the new Channeling synergy being on the tree, do you think routing to it is worth it?

I think i am just too attached to "hit and run" gameplay when it comes to ES characters. Since ES leech is entirely new feature, this might change, especially for a super tanky character like Occultist.
I just wanna do it the old way for now and rely on recharge rate, as it actually works and is super tanky by default.
Also, leech is capped in 3.6 (es or not), so i highly doubt it will outweight the reliable recharge. If you have a giant ES pool, like 12-15k for example, Recharge rate will be much more effective than a capped leech.
For leech you need to hit/cast extremely fast too and be able to refill/leech mana as well. And it will be hard to invest in so much cast speed for a slow Occultist. Mana management would also be impossible assuming how many things we reserve (3-4 curses, 2-3 auras)

Channelling nodes look fine, but nothing spectacular to invest into, honestly. Just a filler to support more channeling spellcasters. But investing into +1 jewel node is usually a better idea :)
