Yes I been thinking about trying to run another Aura like Dread Banner or War Banner to help out the Minions. But really I think it is easier to fix my gear now as it is then try to add in yet another Aura.

Was looking at some Unique gear as well, but again that limits my ability to add resistance to items. I would be done to my Boots, Rings, Helmet and Amulet to get all my resistance up plus making sure I have enough Strength and Dex to use the items and gems.

But fixing my gear is going to take a lot to get up 30% on all my resistance at this point. I need to get all new items and hope they roll with good stats.

I'll save you some time. :)
You can only run with Clarity aura if you want that 20% resist. No other aura fits without capping out your mana.
In the end though you will not miss that extra 20%. You will get plenty from gear. Just don't go hog wild on the uniques as the rares allow you to modify your char needs much better.
I think my fire resist is like 225% right now. Wasn't trying to get it that high - just how my gear is atm.
So I do not even consider worrying about that extra 20%.

Another question, if I replace the minion life support with Raise Spectre, and leave the rest unchanged which spectre are the most usefull to have?

If you take out Minion Life Support you might find the are dying to fast and you need to recast all the time. Which could slow you down in maps. But if you do remove it and the survive then do not see an issue.

As to the Spectres go with 2x Carnage Chieftains and 2x Salve Drivers. Or try 3x Slave Drivers and 1 Carnage Chieftains if that 1 chieftain can supply frenzy to all our minions easily enough.

Currently I am running 2x Carnage Chieftains and 2x Undying Evangelist.

Carnage Chieftain's give my minions Frenzy Charges

Undying Evangelist do Delayed Blast, AoE Physical spell and Proximity Shield
I think is supposed to be corpse blast type effect.

But this league the Slave Driver from The Control Blocks (Act 5)
and Solar Guard from (Act 8): The Solaris Temple Level 1 or Level 2, The Harbour Bridge, The Solaris Concourse seem to be the most popular, as per the wiki.

GrunkleBob uses Slave Driver and he says they are good. I have yet to switch over to them to see if it is an improvement.

I pair Raise Spectre with Blood Magic Support, as it allows them to use their abilities more often. They have a ton of health.

I have them in my shield which gives +2 to minion gems and the +2 to minion gems from my Ascendancy is making them level 21 currently.

If you are at the point that your zombies simply don't die, and you will be at some point, I suggest a lvl 3 (or 4) Empower. That raises your zombie's base phys damage significantly with every level. All those other +% phys damage gems/passives/Hatred aura/whatever are going off that base damage soooo...
If you are trading you can get a corrupted lvl 3 for dirt cheap. I actually throw mine away if they do not corrupt to lvl 4.

Also, if you are at that point, you may consider swapping out your Fortify for a more DPS oriented gem.

Just remember to stay away from halls of the grandmaster and reflect maps. Other than that I have never come close to any of my minions dying.

I suggest a spectre gem in a ring with a socket. You're hurting your zombie DPS possibilities, IMO, if you throw a spectre gem in with them.

To finally get to your question; depends on what you want your spectres to do. support or DPS. I use mine for support.

Edit: Yea, what Peleus said. If you have room to link spectres with something else. i.e. you removed a CWDT 4l. Blood magic is a good choice for the chimps. But careful if you are not using chimps as blood magic does not work for every spectre. Some spectre skills are simply just on a cooldown. You'll know it when you see it. :)

Thanks for this guide. It's probably the easiest I've done all 4 labs.
I had a bit of gear and some currency to help get me started but was also fortunate with some drops, like my first ever good Stygian belt:



and amulet to give me lots of extra strength and dexterity:



I anointed my amulet to get the "GravePact" passive.

I think it's a bit of a glass cannon, so you *really* need good life rolls on all your gear. I've also invested some extra points into life nodes and life jewels. Kay's Summoner, in contrast, invests a lot more points to make you tankier.

I've reached level 92 and am pushing higher maps and deeper delves.

I am really enjoying a holy flame totem with Armageddon brand on PS4 so I don't play my necro as much now that I beat Uber Elder. Enjoying my couch time for a change:)
In my 6 link I have Minion Damage, Feeding Frenzy, Elemental Army, Fortify, Raise Zombie, Raise Specter. I did this so the specters benefit from the other minion links with the zombies. If I swapped the specters to another area, I would replace with Concentrated Effect since it is blue and I would not have to roll my colors. I also like the empower swap with fortify, again no color changing. Hmmmm it's zombie night Friday so maybe I will do both. I have 600c just rotting away, may just buy a couple max level and see what's up... Honestly, I may drop all the golem shit and grab life, I don't think I need regen so I am feeling like adding stone golem is not the best, adding flat life would be better. I am the weakest link in this build by far.
This is what I'll do, swap stone golem with raise specter, respec tree for more life. Add empower and concentrated effect. Report back to you all in a timely manner with results. I may take Mistress of Sacrifice, that energy shield buff is needed terribly. Nothing I can't redo with over 100 orb of regrets rotting away in stash :) Let's see what POB says...
Ok, sold, I mean DONE DEAL. REALLY. Actually Fortify give me MORE dps than Empower so I am not touching that. Concentrated effect is bananas batshit crazy!!! It adds 79k to the zombie slam! and a 21/20% corrupted adds another 3-4k.
So that is a done deal there. I am afraid of losing my specters when they are unsupported, we are talking Uber Elder here... If I remove elemental army my resists drop from 79%(+4 with 20/20% elemental army) to 66. Chaos is STILL 75%. If I stay commander of darkness, that fixes that, but I lose my energy shied buff. So my quandary is Bone Barrier or Mistress.
I'm not interested in losing fortify. But will swap elemental army for Concentrated Effect. That drops minions to 75% (86%) that is acceptable.
Not sure on giving up bone barrier either. That is a lot of minion life lost. But Concentrated Effect more than makes up for losing -10% resistance to enemy I think I am sold there. 16k minion life to go from bone to mistress, that's a hard call as well.

TLDR: I am going to swap concentrated effect for Specters. The specters have 80k life UNSUPPORTED! I need the charges they generate, I NEED my zombies slamming! Concentrated Effect adds 99k damage (over 50% MORE)... SOLD! Stone Golem is gone and tree is getting reworked for life for me:) Did you notice minions have life leech cap of 16000 per second LOL!! It will be a fun night... again! I may go 2 Carnage apes for frenzy, to Host apes for power charges. I don't need their damage, the zombies need their charges!

I am going to try hairy bonecrushers again, they are slow, but they do enduring cry, not sure if that is shared with party or not, but it is the only possible way I see to get endurance charges. So I'll try 1 carnage, 1 host, 2 bears. There are elemental weakness specters too... mmmmmmmm I LOVE this build! Actually we do more physical than elemental so I may throw a Vulnerability specter in as well! Yaaaaayyyy time to go shopping in Wraeclast... EXCITING STUFF!

Final EDIT:(I do have a job) I'm trying this, if I can find them.
Host chieftain (83k life) 3 power charges, Carnage chieftain (83k life) 3 Frenzy charges, Merveil's retainer (56k life) for Vulnerability, (Defiler has 133k life) for Elemental weakness. Sounds like 4 candidates I will be interviewing tonight! Also remember if you take specters to your hideout, they go into your desecrate pool. Lose a specter, port to hideout and drop desecrate, they should be in there... also remember pressing the A key shows you what you're about to raise so you don't mess up your rotation.

When I beat Uber Elder, I lost 1 specter slave driver (life is 53k). I died 5 times and ALMOST 6...

There is no movement speed cap in the game unless otherwise stated. So the only minions that have a movement speed cap are the minions that are raised by the gems that say so. For example: Raise Spectre has "Minion Movement Speed is Capped". Even though the wording is general, it's specific to the minions raised by the gem. So out of all minions on the battlefield, only the spectres will have a capped speed. That's why they add movement speed into the gem itself.
