I respeced my necro to this and its a very nice build. It is very easy to stay alive with the regen and taunt. Rocking 3600 life and 500 es with the items I put together. 6L but with a L15 impale and no awoken gems. Empower 3.
I ran some depth 170 delve and that was quite gopd. I was amazed at how easy it was to stay alive. With more life its probably good for afk. On a T16 guardian map with extra life and damage. Clear was walking speed with a pause for rares. Cleared a blight encounter with no trouble. Minotaur was not so good with 3500 life and my skills :) The golems took some time to wear him down so I would not say single target is way over powered at my current setup. He killed 1/2 the golems at one point but I got him in the end. So overall I would say this is a pretty neat and a fun build to play. I'd be really concerned with getting the gear together at league start but to be honest I have never tried. Thanks for the build guide. | |

This build is 1 of so, SO few that is actually as advertised.
I am a necromancer main, im used to instantly deleting actual endgame bosses like guardians and conquerors in less then 3 seconds while taking little to no damage. So my opinion of other builds is pretty harsh b/c most feel like absolute trash to me. After reading the massive wave of necromancer nerfs I thought what the heck and respecd my witch to this build's tree, I picked up a cheap clayshaper and victarios shield, used random armors I had in storage, and spent like 30c on some council gloves. The only money I had to spend, which was minute, was like 1.5ex on the primordial jewels. With that minimal investment and just bricked 20/20 gems, lv3 empowers, and no 21s or awakened gems I was able to easily clear t16 maps, guardians, and conquerors, with a 2c mace and 3c shield. Im sure it would suck to league start with this build b/c its such a unique skill tree but I just wanted to say well played sir. It is so refreshing to finally try a build that works as advertised. " Ive been looking into this aswell and I know the OP recommended in his original ice golem thread to just start as a self casting arc user and respec later on, b/c regardless what you do you will have to respec a large portion of the tree b/c its just a socket abuse tree. I looked up arc build videos and guides, theres a huge one in the main forums aswell and just made myself step by step mini PoBs for every 7 or 8 levels. Did you make mini pobs so you can conserve points where you can while leveling?

I dont think theres any realistic way to make a working leveling tree that is only going to take a handfull of respec points later on, the OP and many others have said as much multiple times in the massive ice golem version of this thread.
You are going to be respecing a big portion of the tree so you may aswell go with something comfortable, be it arc, or summon raging spirits and skeletons, etc, whatever works for you. Metamoprh I did SRS into zombies, I will be doing arc this go around for something new, and especially b/c im not going necro, I can just take the left hand side of our natural ascendancy points while leveling. " " " Yeah im writing atm small leveling guide with skill tree etc. Its funny but i been using always anything to do acts. Sometimes i took spells , minions even bow etc. I rly wasnt focused on what i pick i just go but on Metamoprh i just went top and then right on tree , wasnt even respec 1 point. You can start with srs/zombie/skeletons because we grab minion points also on the left side there is plenty of minion nodes (so u can waste like 20 orb of regrets later). Srs+Infernal Legion is cool tho :). I will finish this "leveling tree - guide" in few hours. The EE part is the only thing im unfamilar with coming from traditional necros.
If we wanted to use an automated cyclone approach, going with cyclone, cast while channeling, desecrate, flesh offering, and 2 utilities, like maim and infused channeling are we ok if we swap out hatred for pride. I was assuming if I keep hatred, the added cold damage to all my cyclone hits will screw up the EE for my golems. | |
" You cant deal any cold dmg or you gonna rip EE. The best way to get extra dmg (aka ascendency Beacon of Ruin - 15% more dmg) is to deal lighting dmg. So if u can somehow deal lighting dmg and get some chance to crit your minions will have 15% more dmg + you wont rip hatred. Pride is alternative but still u will need to swap gloves too since they are cold dmg or take off EE use pride and brutality in ur chest (grave intentions wont work too). In my opinion pride+brutality is bad choice because you wont have extra dmg from EE also minions wont chill/freeze anymore.
