Thanks to everyone contributing to what seems like a fun looking build.
I am struggling to choose my path though. I see people talking Inquisitor and Guardian and I had my eyes set on Elementalist (mainly because I haven't played Elementalist in a long time).
Any pointers towards strengths/weaknesses of the different ascendancies?
Cheers
Here's my opinion:
Elementalist - easiest to build and gear, best aoe, cheaper than either Templar version
Guardian - best defense
Inquisitor - best dps
I've only played the two Templar versions and they are both awesome, but there's a bunch of people here that have also played the elementalist version so if you have specific questions just ask and I'm sure one of these guys can answer.
Woah congrats! Is that +2 gems a corrupt or a legacy version? 80ex is probably worth it just for that tbh.
I'm still trying to fit my copy into an Inqui tree without pain attunement. Main problem is nimbleness which is right next to PA (cast speed, crit multi) is a huge dps gain and I'm struggling to find a good alternative.
It's actually the new version introduced in 3.16
Before the max was only +1lvl of gems
It's so expensive because it's hard to get this mod combined with the right colours (because you cannot recolour a Skin of the Lords)

This is a great breakdown.
IMO Erkoerko, if you are a first time player of the build, play the Elementalist. We have played and tweaked that for a few leagues now and it is solid. We are still perfecting the other versions.
Note that all three versions are VERY similar until end game.

The metamorph tree he has is very similar to what I think I've decided on except I'm also grabbing the rogue exile nodes. I still think I'll switch to a bossing tree at some point and focus on farming and then running fragment sets.
Yeah, Ive been watching a lot of different videos. This is my (current) starting tree, that I based off Grimro's first video. I decided against essences since many streamers are suggesting that.
Harbingers and Strongboxes are both on the map device. I may pay for Harbingers but probably not Strongboxes, but with Shaping the Valleys giving so many bonuses to Fortune Favors the Brave, it's nice to have the tree support map mods Fortune may pick. In addition, these options I dont have to sell anything to make money (unless strongbox drops something worth my time), whereas essences you do.
I would like to specialize in ritual (I like picking my rewards and I can set up my totems ahead of time) but no way I'm paying 13C. Also there's no guaranteed way besides buying scarabs (or pay 13C, maybe scouting reports too?) to force ritual to appear on the map

Btw yesterday someone clued me in on this website: https://pathofatlas.com/
It shows on the left all the accumulated bonuses, as well as being able to just click a node and it selects all the nodes in between, unless the official website which forces you to click each one (feel the weight of each click!)
As for the official website, if you choose the "show shortest path", the final node bubble shows the # of nodes it takes to path there. Very small so it's easy to miss.

I think Navandis said Spoils of War is bait so still debating that.
I was a bit shocked at the price of ritual.
I don't tend to be a good target farmer so I may just go Fortune of the Brave every map and hope for the best over the long haul.
thats not a bad strategy, i get burnt out really fast doing target farming...
so does fortune favors the brave give you one of the mods on the map device or it can be anything (league mechanics that are not currently on the map device as well)?

I'm definitely taking the Shaping the Valleys node for that reason. Just alch n go and see which random mechanic gets added to the map along with my metamorphs and my tormented rogue exiles.
Speaking of this, the atlas tree definitely made up my mind 100% to go guardian. I'm expecting some pretty rippy stuff with a bunch of ghosted rogue exiles and random metamorphs running around. :-)
