If you're looking for a game to relax in, you picked the right one. I just quit SC2 after 2 years to come play Path of Exile. For the sole reason that I don't need to continue grinding to maintain my skill in the league I'm placed. I've come to terms with the fact I don't have the time or desire to spend countless hours studying builds and timings to continue playing SC2. I've hit the mid masters wall in SC2 that the vast majority of players will never get over. Its just the way it is. I'll never be any better at that game, because I don't have the time or discipline required to progress. I've already got a full time job.
I agree with you in a sense. No matter how hardcore people say Path of Exile is, it isn't anything when compared to the level of play required in a game like SC2. But, it isn't even remotely close to the same type of game. They can't even be compared. SC2 is meant to be a competitive, skill based game. They've centered it completely around eSports with its latest expansion. Path of Exile is exactly what its genre is intended to be, an ARPG. You're a troll. But, its fun to respond to this. If you think Path of Exile is challenging, you've never even set your foot in the door of a game like SC2. Period. Последняя редакция: Khang#3913. Время: 27 мар. 2013 г., 13:11:03

" id like you to spell it out for him please... cuz so far i know the difference between a MMORPG and a AARPG... but im curious what nonsense you will try to string together. |

" But still, being white is a big deal in our world, so even as a white toilet you are better then being a toilet thats not white Why you should try Harcore http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/209310/page/1

" Assuming you meant 'ARPG'… 1) 'ARPG' and 'MMORPG' are not mutually exclusive qualifications. 2) The term 'MMORPG' is a contraction of 'MMO' and 'RPG'. The meaning of 'MMORPG' is simply the combined meanings of the terms that make up the contraction — there is no hidden or special meaning that makes the whole not the sum of the parts. Simple. Therefore, the logic that I wrote down is correct and applies to the situation, but the logic that KingGloborx wrote down, while correct by and in itself, does not apply to the situation. Let me know if you need more schooling. I love the feeling of superiority I get from pointing out your stupidity. ^_^ IGN: NuzzyFipples

" I'm sorry mate but; " We dont have a persistent world, PoE is heavily instanced. |
![]() |
" A game can be heavily instanced and persistent. You have to understand the context of persistent. Guild Wars was heavily instanced and considered an MMORPG. In fact, both Path of Exile and the Diablo series are obviously persistent. The term persistent in that definition speaks toward character progression being saved and continued involuntarily. Most people don;'t consider POE and Diablo an MMORPG because of the niche, not because of the definition, because by definition they would be considered MMORPG. Do I consider POE and Diablo series an MMORPG? Not from the gamers perspective, but by the technical definition.. you can't really argue it. Последняя редакция: Khang#3913. " Name me three (persistent-world) MMOs where the world evolves. The idea of evolving worlds in MMOs is a complete joke. It's not even really technically possible unless you have a team of content creators working on content creation 24/7, but that is obviously financially infeasible. The game that came closest to this idea, at least on paper, was Guild Wars 2, with its 'dynamic events' system. It was also the game's main attraction and publicity tool in terms of innovative features. However, the promise of an ever-evolving, constantly changing world turned out to be… right, a complete lie. A carrot, if you will. :) Also note that the game which comes closest to PoE in setup is Guild Wars 1, using pretty much the exact same system (persistent towns, instances zones), is generally considered an MMOG, even by its creators. Wikipedia classifies it as an MMORPG. Sorry "mate". IGN: NuzzyFipples
