The trade bot thing

I always knew that some players were automating their trading to some degree, but it is a point that is ridiculous. I traded almost exclusively with bot users this league and it is not ok, and for 3 major reasons.

- Using automation is not authorized, meaning that the act of doing that is degrading for the community. Tolerating that is extremly toxic for the community as a whole as it explicitely implies that GGG is ok for players cheating as long as there is a status quo.

- If you are not botting, you still need to trade to have your fun(if not SSF), so you inevitably trade with bots, not only you actually work for those guys who are actively cheating but you are actually a culprit as well.

- In trade league, at equal skill, you are strictly unable to compete with people using trade bots and your game experience is way worse(less currencies, more clics to do, more activity needed for the same results)

Note that I'm not talking about rmt there. But I really feel that this whole topic is extremly toxic and degrading overall, it's not good for the game and it is absolutely horrible for the playerbase.

Bots don't even try to hide anymore, they stand on their stash, send an automated message when it's done, don't reply to anything, don't move, it is actually easy as hell to identify them.

I do a lot of trading. I’ve come to easily identify trading bots. Granted when doing currency trading, there’s a much greater chance to run into a bot. All things considered, I feel about 10-15% of total trades have been done with automated characters.

I don't trust you at all. Currency trading is actually the oposite, if you sell currencies, wich is btw more worthy than buying, you actually deal with 0 bots.

If it were not for bots, there would be no trading. I only get trade messages accepted by bots. GGG has acknowledged that they set up the game around trading, so trade is a necessary part of the game. Bots fulfill this requirement.

You don't like it? Why should I care, no player is going to sit around selling stuff for 2c, thats stupid. Only bots will. Therefore bots are MANDATORY to the game working in trade leagues.

No , for me trade with bots is much easier , fast and convenient than trade with toon of afk and silence player . You saying that trade bots is bad for game and horrible for the playerbase , can you specific why it bad ? If not then i will keep trade with bots and you can count me out of that your "playerbase" .

Ok guys I get that you like the convenience but it is the economy game. It feels more like deal with the devil to me, it is imho degrading. Players hosting trade bot should not be a mean nor an end.

I don't use bots, because I like my account, but other than that, what is the issue with them ? Trade is such a terrible inconvenience in the current game, I am thankful for those that do risk it to use bots, because at least some trades happen.

i think we should all have an npc who does our selling for us for any items that would come under the bulk item exchange category. other players message us for those trades using the copy/pasta from the website, the message goes to our npc, they come to our hideout and the npc will do the trade with them. we can then claim our currency back from the npc whenever we want.

have the npc reply to trades when the items are sold so people arnt just messaging into the void like we are now which is so frustrating.


so when ur buying its still the thing of having to go to the hideout etc, it doesnt make it any easier to get the items you are after if ur a buyer. but it means your trades are not ignored. every time i try and buy currency in a league i message like 30 people before anyone responds, and the one that eventually responds is so obviously a trade bot. its frustrating man, and thank fk for that bot because the little bugger actually took the time to sell me the listed items which is more than can be said for the other 30 people. but it is wrong, we dont all have a bot.



i think a trade npc for bulk item exchange is a really good alternative to an auction house, it essentially doesnt change how trade is supposed to work for the buyer but it does solve a lot of stress in the current system. a really bad bit of current trade is the seller end too, you dont message to buy an item when ur in a map or on lab run etc, but you get messaged for items when ur in that content all the time and it sucks.

it doesnt effect actual gear upgrade trading at all. you could have a stock npc and then you could have like a loot filter type text file where you could put in custom text for responding to players. you could sell mtx for the npc to change them into a different sort of npc, maybe with dialogue people can hear etc. it could be really fun.

well, the problem is like you say, neither you or i can use them because we like our accounts. thats the way i see it, thats the actual problem here that needs solved.

without bots u might as well play ssf tbh
