Uber bosses needs more phases to prevent glass cannon builds killing them instantly

just do it like the older RPGs where damage was not avoided by simply walking in circles

No more Cyclone then?

cyclone is not the problem, after all Diblo has always had something similar, the problem is ice spear with trillions of projectiles on the screen giving infinite stagger to mobs allowing builds that do not need any layer of defense. for me the worst is the sion build that does this without even using buttons to cast it just walks around and kills everything
I wonder why people care so much about what other people are doing. You can choose to do the fight as hard as you like. Getting mad because someone else has an easy time in a game makes no sense. Just play the game how you like and stop trying to ruin other peoples fun.
Absolutely not. Stop being the fun police.

But then the freeze mechanic is the problem, not dodging
It all boils down to build/skill balance and scaling, and that GGG has decided it's OK for a select few skills/builds to be able to one-shot uber bosses, and for some skills/builds to hardly be able to beat them. It's impossible to design balanced boss fights in an unbalanced game. But the result of "fixing it" would probably be an A4 environment without "building", build exploration, META changes and interesting builds.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
The builds i have seen that oneshot bosses need a preparation time like traps and the long winding boss spawns that stay close to immobile for a few seconds after they can be attacked really invites to do so.

If GGG wanted to do a very hard boss i would think of a open wide arena where you start in the middle next to the already spawned boss as soon as the character moves the boss starts the fight with high movement speed and fast action speed in the attacks with some range and AoE like cleave but no dead angle so that trying to walk in circles would fail miserably. Basically an enforced defense check. It wouldnt be a perfect boss design by far not but I think an aspirational boss that is not easily cheesed by cast on death or traps could look like this where it enforces a certain defense benchmark which would already lower the possible dps.

Personally im not a fan of phase like Sirus because the invulnerability phases take longer than the active fighting phases.

I'll never understand why some consider it such a big crime that a strong build could one shot bosses. Those builds usually take a lot of investment which can be achieved only be very dedicated players, and the overwhelming majority of the playerbase will never one shot any endgame boss (me included).

I really hate how GGG protects bosses with invulnerability phases where the boss can do everything to you while you can do nothing to them during this phase.

Imho, one shoting bosses or annihilating any other content when you worked hard to build up your character is fun and rewarding in an ARPG. But fun police won't allow it.
I don’t really understand the appeal of going out of your way to play boss fights without actually playing the boss fight, but if that’s what some people want to do, I don’t think we need to stop them.
Whats the appeal of the Exarch bullet hell, for example? It is nigh impossible to time it correctly 2-3 and more times in a row and Maven is, of course, sitting right there and obscuring your view. The game is not meant to be a skill-based platformer so this "playing the boss mechanics" is as much BS as trying to avoid the traps in the Lab - just cheese them and get it over with.
