POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

Again, this helps nobody. All the effort you put into typing out that mountain of text was half to attempt to impress and the other half some hilarious journey of your personal theories. People coming to this thread could be looking for ways to deal with the issue until a permanent fix is found, and rolling back 24H2 100% did that for me.

But go ahead, quote me again with some wall of text and tell people to leave their bad reviews. Have a nice day.

The problem is that for majority of the people rolling back did not help, because it was not rolling back that helped in your case either.

Misinformation such as "Path of Exile 2 hard crash is due to Windows 11 24H2" causes people to waste hours in rolling back to Windows 11 23H2. The problem with the rollback is simple:

1) Doesn't work.
2) Updates are there for a reason. Among the bloat there are some portions that fixes critical issues of Windows 11 24H2, of which there are many.
3) Rolling back will not be an option soon. 24H2 is a forced update.

That's why, once again I ask anyone who encounters this problem to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner so that others be aware of the issue and so that we can fight against misinformation.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.
So I was doing some digging and came across this from a Learn Microsoft website. The date it was updated caught my attention.

"Select games might stop responding on Windows 11, version 24H2 devices
Issue might occur when starting, loading, or during active gameplay. In rare cases, you might receive a black screen."

Status Resolved

Edit: As seen on the post below, the above might of been tested once to no effect. I think the person is referring to the game client though.

Also there is a reasonable chance that some freezes could happen due to high CPU temperatures. It would be worth just keeping an eye on it if you have not checked it already.

That right there is exactly what I'm talking about. You don't know that, you can't possibly know that because you don't know who all is reading this thread, what they've done and what they haven't. You've only seen replies from whomever comments which is a minute fraction of who all is out there. Any normal person can see that's your made up bullshit. But you come at me with "misinformation". It is also possible that PoE2 lacks an actual programmer with academic knowledge as a lead or ignored their expertise. If you let practical knowledge people have a free run then sooner or later you will encounter logic errors because they will always have some sort of blind spot in their knowledge.

Windows or Linux might have something that allow these hard crashes to happen, but not triggering them is the duty of the application that is running on them.

Yes and no. Two examples I mentioned above demonstrates the professionals from the industry also make critical mistakes. It's not possible to know all weakness and flaws of the OS / Runtime / Framework / Library / any piece of software / Hardware especially if you follow the guidelines, good practices. You suppose that the other guys do the same (at minimum they follow their own standards). So when you hit some unclear conditions and you got UB in your program, it frustrates everyone: you and your users. This is the reason why industry uses older software / hardware in critical systems like space engineering or even in aircraft. UB must never happen.

In the triangle QUALITY <-> TIME <-> COST you have to make a choice. Just imagine if PoE 2 was developed using something like waterfall model? The supporter packs will be x10 times more expensive :D

Just for the instance. Did you know, their VFX Lead Programmer Alexander Sannikov doesn't have the grade in IT? There is a good interview with him on Cardiff's YT channel. At one time, he failed to pass the exam on the first try in his specialized subject (electrostatics). Well...

The problem is that for majority of the people rolling back did not help, because it was not rolling back that helped in your case either, it was something else you did or happened automatically while you were doing the roll back.

We have multiple reports on here, on steam, and on other sites/platforms (4chan, discord etc...). Rolling back does not help. If it did, everyone who rolled back would have reported that it does help instead of coming back and saying "never mind I crashed again".

Not to mention there is no way to rollback to Windows 11 23H2 from a Windows 10 22H2 or Linux.

Misinformation such as "Path of Exile 2 hard crash is due to Windows 11 24H2" causes people to waste hours in rolling back to Windows 11 23H2. The problem with the rollback is simple:
