[POE2] Disconnects PC from internet when trying to log in.

PoE1 issue back in PoE2, its caused by packet loss in the midddle of WAN network, the easiest fix is to use VPN to reroute your packets, it fixes around 90% of the lag.
I too have this issue now. I have played on and off since the release without issues but since today every time I try to log in it breaks the internet connection from my whole pc. As soon as I close poe the connection comes back up and works just fine. I have tried to reinstall the game in Steam and when that didnt work I uninstalled it and downloaded the standalone client from the webpage to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
same problem
Same issue to me.
No problem since EA launch, no changes to my settings.
Worked fine 5hrs ago when I last logged on and now whenever I boot up poe2, internet slows to a crawl until it just stops.
Shuts down poe2 and everything goes back to normal.
My phone/other devices connected to the same network works perfectly throughout.

"Hotfix" today seems to be a mess.
So as I mentioned it happens with the built-in Intel Wi-Fi 6E. Windows 11.

I remembered I had an old PCI Wi-Fi card, Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-N 7260. Now I'm using it and it doesn't disconnect at all.
I have the same issue, only my PC (connected to internet via cable) disconnects from internet. No other devices in the house gets disconnected
As someone who just started playing this game two days ago, I encountered an extremely frustrating issue today. I spent two hours trying various fixes, and while I eventually resolved the problem, I’m still not entirely sure why it worked. I’m writing this post to document the problem, record my troubleshooting process, and hopefully help others facing the same issue.

The good news is that this issue is fixable, so don’t lose hope too quickly! However, I can’t pinpoint the exact cause.

The Issue
The problem was similar to what others have reported: my ping skyrocketed uncontrollably, occupying the entire network on my system. For reference, I’m running a Windows 11 PC with a 4080 GPU, WiFi 6, and other powerful, issue-free hardware.

Potential Fixes That Might Work
Here’s what I did before the issue resolved itself. While I’m not entirely sure which of these actions made the difference, they’re worth trying:

Check FPS Caps and Let the PC Cool Down:
Toward the end of my troubleshooting, I checked the FPS cap settings in the game and adjusted them. I also let my computer cool down for a while. Interestingly, this game generates more heat than anything else I’ve played recently, so it might have been a motherboard overheating issue.

Ping Improvement:
After two hours, I noticed my ping returned to a normal 25ms, compared to the 30ms I was getting when the issue occurred. At this point, I started moving my character in-game and tried to play normally. To my surprise, the problem didn’t resurface.

Conclusion:
I suspect the issue might be related to overheating or server connection ports (though the latter may be out of a player’s control).

Things That Didn’t Work
Here’s a list of everything I tried that didn’t fix the problem. Hopefully, this will save you some time:

Performance Tweaks:
Lowering graphics quality, enabling fullscreen mode, using dynamic FPS compensation, and similar settings did not resolve the issue. In my case, the game’s lag seemed to be tied to network problems, which is unusual. Typically, network issues cause different types of lag that don’t affect FPS.

Network Fixes:

Restarting my modem.
Using a VPN.
Changing servers.
These didn’t help. However, I didn’t try reconfiguring DNS or IP settings, which might still be worth exploring.

Observations
From my experience, it feels like the issue might stem from packet loss or some kind of miscommunication with the server. My ping often fluctuates from 30ms to 150ms before stabilizing, which I’ve encountered in other games. However, in this case, it seemed like the server got “stuck” on a failed packet, which disrupted the entire communication process.

If anyone else has encountered this problem, feel free to share your experiences or insights. Hopefully, this post helps someone struggling with the same issue!
Wish I'd found this post earlier. Just spent £££ for repairs thinking my PC was the issue, issue still persists. Internet dies as soon as I hit the Server Screen.

I highly doubt the issue is device temperature. This never happened to me until a patch that I wasn't able to pinpoint the exact date and time. Since then, I have never played without getting disconnected randomly. I can't even do a solo run in Trial of Chaos because disconnection = failure. Unlike Sekhemas where you can continue where you left off. Running boss in citadels and pinnacle bosses now needs luck and hope you don't get disconnected while fighting the boss or it'll be an instant failure. Lol.

I've ran out of patience playing this way after missing a shit ton of divines and perfect jeweller's orb due to getting disconnected.

I'll return when there's a new class released or any big updates. Hopefully, this issue gets fixed by that time.
Im currently dealing with this.....
